What Sets Saban and Meyer Apart From the Rest of the Coaching Ranks?!?

I say it is intelligence more than anything. Knowing the right things to say to players and assistant coaches and being able to adapt to different styles and make excellent in - game strategic moves.

Apparently have to be a complete dick to be a successful coach at that level. Both share that same trait.

No. They're just relentless recruiters. X's and O's is only 10% of their game.

Meyer is nowhere near Saban's league. He might be number 2 but he's a whole hell of a lot closer to number three than he is number 1.

Really good player evaluation. Recruiting depth across the board, and fostering a culture of excellence.

Both of them also beat you before the teams take the field with their preparation.

It's pretty simple really....When you have the ability to recruit the top offensive and defensive lines in the country, you will win 95% of the time. The other 5% is based on having great assistant coaches to teach them.
