What rules would you like to see changed for college football

!. I would like to see penalties overturned if there was overwhelming evidence on replay that one was committed or not. Maybe adding an extra coaches challenge for this like in the last few minutes of a game. We have all seen games change on that 'one terrible' penalty.
2. I would also like to see the NFL rule that a player isn't down until touched by an opposing player.

Your thoughts

Eliminate the rule where a fumble in the end zone results in a change of possession. Such a random thing that dramatically changes a game. Why have it result in loss of possession there but nowhere else on the field?

Get rid of conference affiliated officials. Have a large pool of officials, and no official can call a game for the same team more than once.

Linemen downfield. I wish college were more like the pros. 3 yards is too far to be blocking downfield during a pass.

Are you talking about fumbling into the end zone from outside.

Yeah. 2010 "Camback" wouldn't have happened if that were a rule.

I mean. 2013 still stings, but 2010 was hard to swallow for a lot of reasons. Cam's general douchebaggery and all the talk about his dad shopping him around were a big part of it, but adding Gus's gimmick offense that nobody had figured out how to stop yet made that a horrible loss.

Also - in the moment, it felt like Auburn was kind of taking the shine off of Alabama's recent national title by winning one the very next year.

It's like the dregs of an old candle. I'm still melting the tiniest little bit to clean out the decorative jar.

Complete overhaul of the targeting rules.

Bring back incidental facemasks.

Pretty simple, really.

Limit the O lineman blocking downfield to 1 yard instead of 3. This would be similar to that of the NFL.

Also go back to the old way of a "no-call" if the player is running off the field and is at the numbers. If they are running and have made it to the numbers, they are clearly not affecting the play. This will bring some of the advantage back to the defense, since the upswing of the RPO/HUNH offense. Doing this will also do away with frivolous penalties that slow the game down.

Or call the rule like intended so that incidental facemasks don't get flagged, and only the egregious/flagrant ones get flagged and the 15 yard penalty is warranted.

1) adopt NFL rules on pass interference
2) eliminate kickoffs
3) NFL rules on the clock (ie. no stoppage with 1st downs)
4) limit the number of players that can substitute per play
5) limit lineman to 1 yard of LOS downfield on pass plays (NFL rules)

Abolish reviewing calls. Waste of time and the rules for what is and isn't reviewable are laughably arbitrary.

The officiating is part of the game, just like weather and field conditions.

(FWIW, it's even worse in basketball)

The same reason you don't get points for moving the ball to the 17 yard line If you can't see the endzone as being different than the rest of the field, can't help you.

Move to NFL clock rules. The clock stopping after every first down is what makes these games take 4 hours. Also, cut halftime to 12 minutes. Let the band do their thing during pregame.

And I agree with those who mentioned the linemen downfield. Changing that rule from 3 yards to 1 and enforcing it would fundamentally change college football. This isn't a knock on Malzahn, but he got this far by exploiting the shite out of the linemen downfield rule and college football's lackluster enforcement of it.

1) Change targeting rules- ejection penalty is wrong unless malicious intent.
2) Get rid of the fair catch inside the 25 yard line on kickoffs
3) Change linemen downfield from 3 yards to 1, and CALL IT!
4) Eliminate all cut blocks
5) Change the clock rules back to the old format to allow defenses to substitute and eliminate all these stupid "flop plays".
6) Institute some policy to hold officials accountable for blowing calls.
7) Call offensive PI on pick plays.

The average college football game lasts 3 minutes longer than the average NFL game.
