What recruit ranking service do you think is the best? 247, ESPN, Rivals, or 247 Composite

Some talk about it in a different thread got me wondering.
I;ve always been of the opinion that 247 is a lot better than ESPN or Rivals. What do you guys like best, 247, Rivals, ESPN, or the composite on 247 that combines all three?

247 is run by a Gump, so that makes sense.
It's a shame Slade Bolden didn't get bumped up to a 5* when he committed.

If I was forced to use only one of the three than it would have to be 247 but I would rather go with composite.
I think it also matters on the sport as well.

Football I go with 247 Composite yes it included ESPN which is jsut shitty, but compositing the data bases tend to smooth out outlier. I also look at a players rank on every service. if he is to 10 and 1 has him at 50 I generally consider that an outlier.
ESPN has decent basketbal coverage though. Maybe because there they know they will be marketing these players immediately next year.

247 just has so many better features than the other ones, from actual scouting reports for the top 100 or so players, the crystal ball predictions, the fact that they came up with the idea for the composite ranking.

Yep, no doubt they are way ahead in terms of raw coverage. It would take a lot of research to really see where the different systems rank against each other in terms of pure ranking players and even then you could never get anything objective.

It's completely subjective and comes down to personal opinion. A lot of ratings come from tapes and often times the prospect is the only D1 player on the field so when they come to camps they put the kids they see in person way up higher because they've seen them compete up close however its a very inexact science because of the quality of competition across the nation is so varied and the difference between a 3 star and a 5 star 10pts or less and while one service may see a kid as an absolute stud another may see a low 4 star because of variance. I don't really trust any of them as much I trust head coaches that always end up with good players like Saban.
If you look at an offer list and you see LSU, Bama, UGA, etc all offering with committable offers - that's the kids you know can play.

If an Alabama fan opened a restaurant that served the greatest food you've ever eaten, you'd still leave it swearing it tasted terribly. (But only after you found out who owned the place)
