Can we discuss stories or legends about recruits getting paid? What have you heard? LEAVE ALL NAMES OF RECRUITS AND SCHOOLS out of it.

I just want to hear some of the stories.

My dad used to work at a luxury car dealership owned by an Ole Miss booster in the early nineties.

Said players would come in to "work" for the summer and not even be there except for the first day when the owner would tell the parts manager to take the kid out on the lot so he could pick out a car.

Did they get to keep the car or was it just a free lease? And you don’t have to mention which schools you’re talking about.

I love how so many on here claim "everybody cheats!" but usually clam up when asked about specifics.

Few on here have ANY first hand knowledge I would guess.

I mean if "everybody cheats!" as so many claim wouldn't we hear NUMEROUS stories from players who transferred or left the team?

I mean all these guys have access to social media. Where are all the stories? Do you actually think these kids are that great at keeping their mouths shut?

Not saying it doesn't happen but it's no where near the level that folks on here want to believe.

Not sure.

These were only the better players though.

I just want to hear some of the stories.

On November 14, 1991, [REDACTED] played a tape for a Montgomery Advertiser reporter that was allegedly recorded in the spring of 1990. This story also noted that [REDACTED] had received an unsecured loan for $9,209.99 before his senior season began in violation of NCAA rules.

[REDACTED] football team, possibly distracted by the scandal, suffered their first losing season in a decade in 1991, going 5–6.

[REDACTED] was first interviewed by an athletics representative from the NCAA on January 10, 1992. He was interviewed for a second time in March 1992, with subsequent interviews in August 1992 and a final interview on February 27, 1993.

The continuing investigation stretched into the 1992 football season. [REDACTED] new President, [REDACTED], hired a new athletic director to help with the investigation upon [REDACTED] resignation as A.D. Meanwhile, both [REDACTED] and his wife, [REDACTED] , graduated from [REDACTED] . [REDACTED] made obscene gestures at the booing commencement crowd.

The story continued and consumed the entire year of 1992. In January, [REDACTED] appeared on 60 Minutes and repeated his allegations. Because the NCAA had requested that all parties refrain from speaking to the media, no defense was presented for [REDACTED].

In May 1992, [REDACTED] resigned as athletic director and was replaced by former [REDACTED] athletic director [REDACTED], who was also president of the [REDACTED] . [REDACTED] was also well connected at the NCAA, and the hope was that he would enable [REDACTED] to deal with the inevitable penalties.

On November 11, 1992, the NCAA's formal letter of inquiry arrived at [REDACTED]. The football program was charged with nine violations.

Controversy surrounded the audio tapes alleged to support [REDACTED]case. Eventually, 24 tapes were transcribed. All of the tapes were later authenticated by an audio tape specialist named [REDACTED] as the case went forward.

The NCAA determined that athletics representatives had provided [REDACTED]with at least $4,000 of merchandise and payments as well as a booster providing [REDACTED]with $500. It also determined the $9,200 loan from [REDACTED] to be an NCAA violation and charged [REDACTED] with three major ethical violations: 1) lack on institutional control; 2) unethical conduct; and 3) erroneous certification of compliance with NCAA regulations. They also mandated the dismissal of [REDACTED] as both coach and athletic director (already invoked by [REDACTED] himself) and the discontinuance of association with two boosters. In all, [REDACTED] was specifically charged with nine violations of NCAA rules. Because the story broke before the probations of both the basketball and tennis teams began, [REDACTED] was not considered a candidate for the repeat violator punishment by the NCAA.

On August 18, 1993, [REDACTED] was hit with some of the most severe penalties in the history of the NCAA (at that time). These included a two-year bowl ban, a one-year television ban (for the 1993 season), and the loss of 13 scholarships spread out over a four-year period. [REDACTED] was also banned from any appearance at an [REDACTED] function until August 1995. The probation period, while enforced at the beginning of the 1993 season, did not actually start until the 1991 probations of the basketball and tennis teams ended. The probation therefore extended until Thanksgiving 1995.

[REDACTED] replaced [REDACTED] with [REDACTED] University coach [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] then went unbeaten in their first twenty games of [REDACTED] tenure.

[REDACTED] and wife graduated together from [REDACTED] in 1992. As of 2010 [REDACTED] worked as an actor and screenwriter in addition to running his own security company.

Go look up Leo Lewis. Then dig into Terrelle Pryor and Patrick Peterson(Willie Lyles) Of course Cam Newton. Bama even had the kid from LA that had evidence he was taken care of. The stories are out there.
The kids no better than to talk about that stuff. They see what is happening in cbb. They don't want to be ruled ineligible or get their families in trouble with the IRS. Also that stuff is so we'll cleaned that what evidence would they have to show anyone? It would just be heresay and shunned off as rumor.

LSU fans always comment about Bama and a lot of it is in jest but some of us remember Rickey Francois, Dwayne Bowe, Ali Highsmith and Barrington Edwards. Saban was in charge and all were bought and paid for. Hes only gotten better with experience and better backing at Bama.

Not NEAR as many if cheating was as rampant as everyone wants to believe.

I sports journalist could make quite a name for himself by doing some huge expose about cheating but you rarely see or hear anything. How about a 30 for 30 expose? How bout a "Real Sports" story?

Please,so ALL of em a conspiracy of silence going on? C'mon
Tunsil spilled the beans.

How bout after their eligibility
Has run out?Say a guy leaves or gets kicked out of one school and finishes his career someplace else? I don't think he'd have issue at all about talking about what went on at his original school.

How much for each and when did it happen? And who specifically has first hand info?

Once again, not saying it doesn't go on and I went to HS with a couple of highly recruited guys (this was 30+ years ago) and both had well paying BS summer jobs but that's my extent of 1st hand knowledge...not even sure if it was against NCAA rules I also have a couple of 2nd hand stories about a specific player getting cash.

BTW,one guy went to Michigan and the other FSU
