Pretty sure that was Kingsbury who developed Manziel.

Why do you ask questions you know the answer to?

Why would Sumlin "develop QBs" anyway?

Maybe he should have had a bigger hand in doing that because the way he managed QB's is a large reason he's unemployed right now.

I don't doubt that but the job of developing QBs would fall on his QB position coach, not him. Sumlin coached WRs as a position coach throughout his early career.

I'd offer that no one truly developed JFF on or off the field.

His success came through raw natural talent, improvisation, and a quality supporting cast on offense that complemented the first two traits.

It was the lack of real development on and off the field that saw him exit the NFL when he couldn't simply out talent the other team and toss it up to a 6' 4"+ WR with incredible ball skills

Certainly an argument to be made there. Wasn't anything refined about Manziel's game.

So the Wide Receivers coach at Purdue developed the quarterback?

Sam Bradford

The head coach at Houston developed the Oklahoma Quarterback?

Jason White

The non-playcalling OC in his first season developed a 2xRS Junior Quarterback?

Case Keenum

Holgorsen and Kingsbury developed Keenum, not Sumlin

Rossley and Kingsbury developed Manziel, not Sumlin

I'd offer that you truly don't know what you're talking about.

George Whitfield did help with his throwing.

Don't forget the two years he spent under Art Briles.

Say what you want about Art Briles, but the bald guy had an eye for talent at QB.

And this thread was started about his time in college station anyways. You'd think in 6 years of coaching we could show 1 QB that was developed under our system. None where.

Seriously??? No one got more out a fluke win against Bama than Manzel. He padded his stats against weak defenses and Mike Evans often covered up his weaknesses and was the most over hyped QB since Tebow.
