A better question is what keeps Georgia from becoming Bama once Saban retires?
Florida sure as shite won't do anything about it. South Carolina has gone out of business and no longer cares about sports. Auburn's on their way to sit with South Carolina on the short bus.

Don't insult UGA with the idea we want to be like THEM!! YUCK! We have class and decorum to go along with our wins. I'd rather look pretty and poor than be ugly as sin with ill-retrieved gold in my pockets!

The administration.
Granted there were some dark times in between, but I'm sure dire comments were made about the impending post-Bryant years - that no one would ever replicate or replace what he did.
We may walk through the wilderness for a while, but odds are good that the administration eventually finds someone, and right now the coffers are full enough to try.
