What is this "Hail State" foolishness I see on billboards, websites, etc?

What have they ever done to be "hailed"?
Is it some sort of inside joke by them in order to irritate the real players in the SEC?

BATON ROUGE – LSU Athletics, in particular the Creative Services Division of the department, was honored with three silver awards recently by the American Advertising Federation of Baton Rouge.
The group, led by Creative Services director Jason Feirman, was given silver award distinction in the “Outdoor Board - flat/single” category for its design and presentation of the Coach “O” billboard.
In the “Out-of-Home Campaign”, the group earned a silver award for “LSU Football Coaches”, which featured billboards of Coach “O”, AranDa, and OCanada. The billboards helped promote the hiring of new offensive coordinator Matt Canada along with highlighting second-year defensive coordinator Dave Aranda.

The LSU billboards with the scoreboard sponsors are the best though. Got to make that monthly note on the lazy river I guess.

I think we "hailed" 37 points on your arse last fall.

"Hail State" was written in 1939. Interestingly enough, that was also during Hitler's rise of popularity and power in Nazi Germany in which "Heil (Hail) Hitler" was a well-known world wide as the salute for that bastard... I'm not saying that MSU's slogan has a hidden Nazi meaning to it. It was just a coincidence. Just like it is a coincidence that Mississippi State has the 10th highest German ancestry population in the entire state, and just like it was a coincidence that groups such as the German American Bund (Nazi sympathizer group) was around. Nope, has nothing to do with Nazi's and was simply a coincidence.

Should've gone with something like:
Yeah, It's Coach O But He's Our Coach O
or maybe:
Stand Up and Roar (At Least Until the End the 3rd Quarter)

We should erect a tower of trailers lining the side of the stadium so the common folk can watch the game admission free

Should’ve had the lazy river connect the MS River to Tiger Stadium. Folks could just float in and out in their pirogues.

Diverting that much water into that small of a space (lazy river) would be a disaster and would surely cause widespread flooding. Not surprised the same people who engineered the trailer park baseball stadium thought up that plan. Didn't the administration make y'all disassemble that monstrosity because it was structurally unsound? Must have been a sad day #7cowbellsalute

Then you could use the FEMA money to pay Miles’ buyout and clean up the slums around campus.
