This was the year with the experience returning and 3 classes under the belt that A&M was supposed to compete at the top of the division. I know there were some defections that didn't help, but yesterday was as bad or worse than any of the 3 previous meetings Jimbo had with Alabama.

From afar it feels like the last real "ok, this could be where we improve" is when Mond leaves and a new QB takes over. But even then, you are starting a young, unproven QB and logic would contend that your best bet to get over the hump with him would be in year 2..........which means 2022? Year 6?

I just don't really know what the answer there is?

So is the feeling that once Mond goes and a new QB takes over (King I guess), that maybe that's when A&M can take that step to really competing?

At least it is possible without Mond.

Once Mond goes A&M should be able to prevent giving up numerous 50+ yard touchdown passes.

I'm really not trying to be - I mean I can see looking at Mond as kind of an anchor that creates a ceiling for the team/program. King is a talented kid, and sometimes it takes a QB shakeup to get a team/program going.

Yea.....that's kind of the other issue.

Though, to be fair, we throw multiple 50+ yard touchdowns on pretty much everyone we play.

Once Mond leaves the defense won't have the thought in the back of their mind that, "no matter what we do, Moon Moon will find a way to frick it up."

Too much wierdness this year to make conclusions. Wierd schedule, no warmup games, starters opting out, etc.

Add that Mond is inconsistent, and has made himself a lightning rod by going all in on BLM movement stuff. And there surely some impact within the locker room too. Not sure how, and I doubt the team discusses it at all outside the locker room, but theres too much tension in the world right now for that not to have some impact on team cohesion.

My thought is that we're going to be $22.5 million into a $75 million commitment, so we better hope he figures it out because he's going to be around for a while.

As much as I feel like Mond is a huge disappointment, yesterday's result was mostly about the defense. The only time we get a good rush, we get an interception and almost a pick six. That secondary isn't good enough to cover receivers like Bama has without a pass rush. The good news is, we won't see another team as good as Bama, but, we will see teams talented enough to beat that secondary from time to time. I'm really pissed that 3 years in, we still don't have a pass rush.

Offensively, Mond just can't process information quickly enough to run the offense. He also has no touch, and isn't nearly accurate enough. He just hasn't improved the way that one would expect. Maybe King will when he gets his chance (which will come sooner rather than later).

Glad to not be an A&M fan. Thinking these thoughts has to hurt

not a big MOnd fan, but I will acknowledge that he doesn't seem to have any receivers.

Jimbo Fisher is a stubborn dinosaur that loves racking up yards in garbage time. Once people start poaching his staff he will just hire drinking buddies like he did at Free Shoes. Gonna be a shite show

I don think Mond is NFL caliber , but I thought he made some really nice throws while under pressure. Two drops really changed things for ATM. One just before half...not saying ATM ultimately scores but i don't think Bama does if the receiver didnt drop it. The pass that the TE dropped was a tough catch for the big Fella but it was exactly where it needed to be. Reminded me of the throw catch from Burrow to Moss on Bama last yr.

That secondary though..they had a rough day

On that note...whats the latest for the two injured players. The lack of crowd noise really brings in some of that anguish. You could hear that player with the arm injury was in real pain. Hope for the best for both

The woke networks love it. CBS pregame had video if him leading a protest parade down Texas Ave with his Al Sharpton megaphone this summer.

ESPN has already wet their pants in anticipation when they finally get one of our games in two weeks. (We do the breakfast club on CBS this week with Florida).

CBS had plenty of comments about the Lawrence Sullivan Ross (Sully) statue on campus. All they could say was that Sully was a confederate general. They did not mention that Sully, as President of Texas A&M, saved the school from shutting down and stopped the closure of Prairie View A&M, an all black university in the 1800's.

They also failed to mention that Mond is a descendent of a confederate officer but that would run the narrative wouldn't it?

Who knows? I get the impression the personnel are not at the level they need to be to compete. They just aren't as good as a whole. You'd think sooner or later they would get some of the break through athletes they need. But they don't have the solid 22 yet.

I'm curious as to why Aggies think Jumbo is sticking with Mond if there's a better option on the roster?
