I’m not as sure as you are about Ky not being willing to exchange basketball for football championships. I’ve been to games at UK when UK was playing UGA for the East. The place was packed with blue dressed fans - UGA fans who didn’t have enough points to snag tickets thru the UGA ticket office found it hard to find tickets on Stub Hub, etc. - and the atmosphere was electric. The UK crowd was manic and actually though they had a chance. At least until the half. I’ve also been there when UK was having their usual hum drum season and the stadium had lots of empty seats in the UK areas. There was no excitement in the air and a couple of UK guys who somehow found their way into the visitors seating area next to us spent most of the game talking about their basketball team. They left sometime in the 3rd quarter.
If UK could actually field a legitimate power football team I’m confident in saying that FB would become the major sport at Ky. They get almost crazed when they think the FB team might actually win something that matters

I would have traded a football national championship for one in basketball as a kid. But I wouldn't trade any of them today, so idk.

I like all sports but I can’t pretend that CFB isn’t in a class all by itself. If you told me the Dawgs were going to win the 2023 NC in football but I could trade it for a Falcons Super Bowl and a CBB NC I might do that. I def would if I could get the Dawgs BB, a Hawks Championship, and a Falcons Championship I would. I’d def include the Braves and United but they already won a championship in the last 5 years.

I don't really view it as an exchange rate thing. If we sponsor a sport, I want to win a championship in that sport.

And it seems most of the SEC schools agree with that, with the emphasis put on nearly every sport.

I'm just wondering when we're going to take over hockey.

It really isn't true that SEC schools agree with that. UGA's recruiting budget for football is astonomical. It's #1 by a million dollars over the next closest team.

For basketball... we're in the 40's, nearly a million dollars behind Kentucky (who's #1) and about 1/5th of what we spend on football. Every other sport is WAY behind that.

1 football NC is worth more than any number of titles in any other sport.

You are one strange Dawg. Football is what matters to 99.9% of us. Wouldn’t trade for anything except maybe world peace

I love this holier than thou attitude about football. I am a well rounded sports fan so I have no input here.

I am well aware that Arkansas fans value one women's indoor track championship for one football championship, but what about the other SEC fanbases?

This is an interesting way to take a snipe at a program you claim to not care about. Well thought out and actually got some serious replies. Hat’s off to you……..not a rival,…haha.

You are a TCU fan. Don’t you have your own conference boards to hang out with?
As for anyone on this SEC board’s holier than thou attitude I’d think that after that 65-7 beat down Georgia laid on your team you’d understand that the SEC is at a totally different level than your program. Damn right we are holier - and better than your program. Georgia wasn’t the only SEC program who could rip your teams head off. Most could do it without working up a sweat
