For me, it would take five basketball championships to equal one football championship. And there is no amount I would exchange for any other sport for a single football championship... maybe something absurd like 50:1 for baseball:football.

I am well aware that Arkansas fans value one women's indoor track championship for one football championship, but what about the other SEC fanbases? I know schools like Arkansas, LSU, MSU, Ole Miss, A&M, and Vandy rate baseball success quite highly relative to most schools. And I doubt Kentucky would surrender its blue blood hoops status as easily as most of us would in exchange for football championships.

NCAAB title is like a USD

NCAA wrestling titles are like the Zimbabwean dollar or Vietnamese dong

I don't really view it as an exchange rate thing. If we sponsor a sport, I want to win a championship in that sport.

And it seems most of the SEC schools agree with that, with the emphasis put on nearly every sport.

I'm just wondering when we're going to take over hockey.

In terms of baseball championships it's Missouri 1, Arkansas 0.

I don’t think many LSU fans would agree, but for me, Warren Morris’ walk off homer was right up there with any football NC, except maybe the OU win, in terms of euphoria. It was one of those “where were you” moments. I think each championship has a value of its own, regardless of the sport.

1 Football = 2 Basketball

1 Football = 5 Baseball

1 Football = 1 quintillion titles for any other sport

Edit: I imagine my downvoters have never experienced a back to back football title. Sad!

No amount of any other sport = football championship. Cancel all the others and give their budgets to the football recruiting budget

LSU has won 6 CWS and 3 NCs in my lifetime.

I probably Would trade a couple CWS for a NC, but I a while back someone said they would trade all 6 for one and I was Like no way.

Winning a football championship is an awesome feeling but not over 6x better than winning the CWS. And maybe the fact that we’ve won 3 Football Championships jn my lifetime makes me less desperate.

The first one is probably trade a lot for.

Yeah, but the idea is, how valuable is each one to you? If they're equal, it's 1-1. Even if you wouldn't choose to trade.

Another way of thinking of it is, if you were FORCED to trade, and accept trades in either direction (say FB for BB and vice versa), which exchange rate would you set?

1 Football = 6 Baseball

1 Football - 1 Equestrian (Only sport we are good at)

1 Football = 1 quintillion titles for any other sport

Exactly. It's dishonest to pretend like football, basketball, or perhaps baseball championships are not worth more to the average fan than say an equestrian or cross country championship.

I can honestly say basketball and football are 1:1 for me. Heck, I almost value the 2019 final 4 run as much as I value the 2010 natty run. But there are no hard and fast rules either because even just comparing football to football, I value the undefeated 2004 season and maybe the magical 2013 season around the same as I value the 2010 natty.

Any other sport is not even close though. 5 CWS consecutively would be a lot of fun but wouldn't touch a natty in football or basketball.

1 Football = 3 Men’s Basketball

1 Men’s Basketball = 4 Women’s Basketball OR 2 Baseball

1 Baseball = 10 of any other sport

So for direct football exchange rates we have the following to equal 1 football championship:

3 Men’s Basketball
6 Baseball
12 Women’s Basketball
60 any other sport

1 Football : 3 baseball
1 Football : 4 Softball
1 Football : 6 WBB.
1 Football : 7 MBB.
1 Football : 12 everything else.
