I thought that was the whole point in firing Butch mid-season like that, they had their guy lined up to replace him.

It isn't like Gruden has a season to finish out coaching, are the waiting so he can announce his leaving during the final MNF telecast this season?

Seems to be taking a long time for the announcement for a program prepared to move forward.

He was already hired then fired. That’s the only explanation for why they would look at Mullen. Gruden was a lock.

If it’s Gruden, the delay is almost certainly just wanting to finish the season without another distraction for coaches and players.

Or it’s just not Gruden. Either way, we’ll know in less than a week.
