Mississippi State was ranked #1 in the country for 5 weeks in 2014. They still don't have a natty.

Arkansas has 2 national championships ('64 and '77) but has only been ranked AP #1 for 1 week.

Arkansas is 1000% better than Mississippi State if the math checks out.

I'd say being relevant in the last 4 years is more important than not being relevant in the last 41

All that's really important is a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

If AP doesn't recognize it, then it probably didn't happen.

National Championships without question, and achieving AP #1 is nice, but it's nothing compared to having #1 trophy within your programs trophy case...

That maybe, but remember those have at least 30+ years of gravity on them now.....

They leave drag marks on the floor.......

Bama's in 64 is BS.

Bama lost to Texas in the Orange Bowl while Arkansas beat Texas in Austin and was undefeated.

Arkansas got to #1 on Sept. 1st. They then defeated Tulsa on Oct. 20th to get to #2. Sadly they never got to #3 and finished the year 2-10.

Weeks ranked at #1 are nice. Minus the target on your back. But being ranked #1 during the season doesn't mean shite if you're not #1 at the end.
