Decent QB for Bama a while back.
Does he own a car dealership in Tuscaloosa or something?

He's a financial advisor in Birmingham and is the color analyst for the Crimson Tide Radio Network.

They called him that on Tider Insider too. Which is funny, because he was a tough son of a bitch.

Remember LaRon Landry obliterating him and he just got up like a robot

He never missed a start from 2006-2008. 2006 was Shula and 2007 was Saban's first season.
ETA: Those teams (2006 & 2007)) were a shitshow on offense outside of Andre Smith.

Wilson was a good QB on some epically shitty teams. He ended up being one year too early to win a championship at Bama, but his 2008 team was the start of our current run and I’m glad he got to be a part of it.

JPW was one tough arse mother fricker.
He got hit harder and more often on wide open gap blitzes than any Alabama QB I can remember. And his arse just got up, did that thing where he grabbed on his pads and went back to the huddle.
Shula's 2006 offense and Major Applewhites 2007 offense almost felt like they were built to open up giant lanes for dudes like Landry to missile through just as the QB was turning his head on play action. It's kind of crazy that those types of offensive plays almost literally don't exist anymore.

Was he the start of the “QB mom as phenomenon” fad that McCarron, Fromm, Purdy et al has popularized? The camera reaction shots in the crowd after a TD has become almost SOP.

We had a pro bowler/all pro during 1 of those 2 seasons. It wasn't Andre.
