What happens to Tenner when Pruitt wins in court?

What's rotten in Knoxville is the UT booster & administration gang.
Pruitt's lawyers will prove willful malice in UTs attempt to destroy Pruitt's reputation & career. Pruitt will win in court and then sue Tenner for defamation and win much more than his buyout.
Pruitt had literally nothing to gain by cheating at UT. He had no fear of getting fired. He had a hell of a career before he got there and knew cheating was the only thing that could derail it.

Not a lot he has to sue them in a Tennessee court so if he wins he'll get the bare minimum.
It'll be impossible for him to get a Tennessee judge to acknowledge he proved defamation etc.

I thought everyone had come to terms with cheating in college athletics. Hell, even Creighton is out there offering $100k to players.

Even if he wins 100% of the buyout it won’t be for years, Tennessee can put the money in a mutual fund right now and the returns alone will probably end up paying most of it without them having to touch the principal.

Phil will be called to testify as will coaches, players, admin, execs, etc. This will be a fiasco for UT and will do much more harm than just paying CJP, which they’ll have to do, plus damages.
Gonna be ugly.
Gonna be ugly.

If they are going the same route that Kansas tried before Les was there then they will pay the full buyout after a couple of years if that. They claimed major violations to get rid of him and it turned out to be a couple of lower level ones. He sued and won. But it sounds like Pruitt did some level one violations.

We've got another attorney on the case! I really hope Pruitt doesn't come here seeking counsel or we'll be fvcked. The funny part is they want to believe the handing out McDonald's bags of cash thing but somehow insist Pruitt had no knowledge or is of any blame for that. It makes a whole lot of sense.

At best he gets paid from his termination date till the NCAA findings are public. Because it’s literally in his contract that he can be fired for cause if level I and/or level II and/or enough level III violations were deemed a level I by the NCAA.
Maybe it’s time to venture back to reality and give up on this PR stunt fantasy.

You’ll still pay his buyout and suffer the sanctions and still not be able to hire a coach worth a damn in that rat hole

UT will settle long before this sees the inside of a courtroom.
Which is too bad, really. I would love to see a lawyer ask Fulmer what he meant when he said "recruiting is going really well" at a presser announcing the firing of 10 employees for recruiting violations.

Salary for a month or two vs a buyout. It’s not the same.

Niedermeyer knows the deal and how the game was played and who played. Would JP push the litigation button knowing full well Niedermeyer could counter anything positive Pruitt's lawyer might present? If JP was actually involved in the cheating along with Niedermeyer then you would think JP would go into the night. Somewhere in the middle lies the truth.

Now you can add downright stupid to ugly. The probe that cometh on the hill will not go gently into the night.
