Not sure if there has been a thread about this yet...
Just curious, does the LHN get scrapped if Texas enters the SEC. Not sure why ESPN would keep it alive.

I think so too. It is kind of a flop anyway.

Nobody but I will remember this, but I’m telling y’all that you are all underestimating UT’s draw and size. UT is about to become a serious foe to reckon with.

At least in football. As universities, there’s already no competition.

It shows how ESPN will totally frick up the SEC now that they own this conference lock stock and barrel.

ESPN has made pretty awful decisions the last decade or so starting with that network. How did anyone at ESPN think that was a good idea?

Maybe, they’ve been saying this with each new coach as well.

The SEC will force them to get better. Playing soft big 12 competition made them soft. Same with Oklahoma. They beat each other up and mostly wilted when challenged. Finally being forced to compete week in and week out will make them better. Its why I don’t want to stop playing Alabama every year. Playing them every year absolutely forces us to bring our A game. Like exercising a muscle.

The problem with UT has never been money and exposure. Their issues or with their administration and boosters. Too many hands in the cookie jar. I agree they would be a force to recook with if they ever get an AD with some “chest” that would stand up to thos other influences.

It needs to be absorbed by the SEC network.

Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley are going to have to go back to watching their High School VHS highlights.

Dissolves...two scenarios could be:

1) The remaining money owed to Texas is split to pay for the buyout to start SEC play in 2022-2023 and the remaining is split amongst the conference.

2) The network becomes an SEC West channel with current SEC network becoming the SEC East channel and both would have enough content to sustain that. The remaining money left on current LHN is dispersed evenly to all conference members.

We finally have a university president that actually values athletics and he was the main driver of this move. Our AD has shown us that he is very competent in hiring, especially the lesser sports. Football and basketball hires remain to be seen. We will find out over the next couple of years.

I can say finally that the one positive of Tom Herman and CDC has been our boosters finally getting fed up with average results and are rallying together instead of having different split factions.
