They could mathematically still win the West, too and go to Atlanta.

I’d be a very happy fan, and then we’d hire our new coach

Then most will see it as CEO earned his buyout and he gets an engraved steak knife set.

It would show that Orgeron couldn't handle the pressure and that the team should have been performing that way this whole time.

If LSU runs the table, the fans would have to root for Alabama at some point. Not sure the last time that’s happened.

This is a highly unlikely scenario.

That's exactly why Woodward pulled the trigger now. They beat UF and Woodward realized if O went on a run to end the season, it would be a bad look to fire him. Get it out of the way in case something crazy happens.

Remember when tuberville had auburn by the balls? If Ed 0 ran the table and won the SEC Championship this year he could personally fire the AD and name his on salary.

For one I can think of 1997. LSU beat Bama in T-Town, but lost to Auburn at home (famous Diesel Collins Game where he ran for like 250, and on 3rd and 1 to get a first down, DiNardo threw the ball and clock stopped and punted and D. Craig led Auburn down in like a minute and half to win the game). LSU and Auburn both finished 6-2 but Auburn went to Atlanta. The year before it was just the opposite, LSU beat Auburn at JH, lost to Bama at home and needed Auburn to win the Iron bowl. Did not happen, LSU and Bama both 6-2 but they had the head to head tie-breaker.

LSU will give him a gold watch before he leaves Red Stick.

I’m pretty sure most lsu fans rooted for Alabama in the Iron Bowl during the Tuberville era.
