Huh. In an effort to find a pic of Denny Stadium in 1939, I ran across a youtube video of Bama and Mercer from 1939. I went looking for a pic and found actual footage. You can see Denny Stadium and the Mercer game at about the 1minute 47 second mark.

SANFORD STADIUM, University of Georgia, Capacity - 30,000



SANFORD, opened in October of 1929...notice the English Privet Hedges that are there today (temporarily removed during 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics)

Today’s Sanford Stadium looks like an ACC stadium.

Sec big 6 stadiums shouldn’t see tree tops from field level.


Feels like I’m at Chapel Hill or Charlottesville.
