what are the chances of getting a forum for real discussion of SEC football?

Especially right now there could be some good and interesting discussion.
As it is, though, the new Texas and OU fans come to this site and find all the trash talk and so that's about all they're going to do. Add the other SEC fans that create accounts pretending to be Texas fans, to make UT look bad, and this is what we get.
There are over 40 forums at this website. One more, for civil discussion of SEC sports, and moderated like the recruiting forum, would create a lot of traffic.

As much as I love facerolling my keyboard and getting worked up over jackasses, I would actually really appreciate a forum like this as well.

I actually think some of the new OU fans seem pretty cool and ready to talk football.
The Texas fans/alters are trying to funny about taking over the SEC, but they lack humor. What’s worse, some of them are trying to be serious and not sarcastic.

I think a forum for actual discussion would eventually be more active than this board. I know I would spend way more time there than here.

We need a stupid texas poster board. They could talk smack and entertain themselves there, so the rest of us wouldn't have to listen to their complaining about not ever winning the big12.

The Recruiting Board is kind of like that, at least in terms of trying to facilitate discussion while squashing trolling BS.
Traffic would be slower, and it would take full time MOD effort. But, I think there is certainly a mkt for it. Although, it may hurt hits here and overall. This and tiger rant are the money makers. So, change may not be in the site's best interest

I disagree with that. I think it would eventually be more active than this board. As for hurting this board, I'm not sure how clicks on another forum on the website, instead of this forum, impacts the bottom line.

The trolls need a group to fire up and respond to their nonsense.
If another board offered a whole SEC group dynamic that heavily moderated trolling, many posters may avoid Here and stay there. So, the troll response audience would be less target rich. Simply, fewer fish in this pond = fewer bites.
Non-troll posting forums move slower, so fewer clicks. There may be as many registered posters overall, but the split could lead to less site activity overall.

Seems like right now the only thing worth talking about is the 2 new schools joining the conference.. what else are you going to talk about? It's summer, fall practice hasn't started yet so none of you know shite about shite.
So let them have their fun, the Texas fans will most certainly STFU on Sept 11th when Arkansas rips them. Heck, it's their first game of the year when they actually play a real team.. I can see why they are so excited to get into the SEC.

How about making some good and interesting posts.
I’ve found that posters here respond in a positive manner to thought provoking posts.
The mix of that and trolling is what makes this board so entertaining.
I spent two posts on your UA circle jerk board before being thrown off.
That shite put me to sleep.

That’s why I joined the board. Mentioned OU’s jump in recruiting talent and how Grinch has done an excellent job on defense and some flipped out. Point of contention?
