Thank you SummerofGeorge: Some LSU fans get ticked off when I tell them, and I will repeat it again. The 4 non-negotiable games are
1)Bama/Auburn
2)UGA/Auburn
3) UGA/Florida
4)Bama/TENN
Assuming there is a 3 team permanent and 6 team rotation, from a Bama perspective, as long as those 2 games are protected, who the 3rd game is or not is not relevant.
Under a new Division format with Mizzou moving East and Bama and Auburn West, all those games are protected. So Bama is not playing LSU, Ole Miss, MSU as often, they will play UGA/UK/Florida more often. Doesn't matter as long as Auburn and TENN are protected.
2 other games from the SEC that will be played are in-state games, Ole Miss/MSU and Vandy/TENN.
2 new SEC non-negotiable games are OU/TX and Texas A&M/Texas.
The Mizzou moving West and Bama and Auburn moving East protects these other 4 games as well.
I keep repeating over and over again, most Alabama fans have no problem going East. They get their 2 rival games and are in the Division that looks like the Historic SEC with 7 of the 10 Charter members in that division.
That is why this basic geographical POD system that the SEC Network put out, if that is the way they go, can be refined to a 3 Permanent 6 rotation format
LSU: gets Texas A&M and Florida, both of which qualify as rival type games (I think LSU would be 2nd rival game for Texas A&M behind Texas and 2nd for Florida behind UGA).
The other team LSU should play is Ole Miss. For older segments of LSU's fanbase and large segments of Ole Miss, sort of rival as well.
At least the 3 permanent 6 rotation allows LSU to see Bama/Auburn and now UGA/TENN twice every 4 years.

Sorry Ghost of Barnwell, I think you are trolling. LSU 1st on your list. Come on man, you and I know it is Auburn and TENN and fill in the blank with whoever.

I would say any in-state match-up has to stay too.
Ole Miss/MS St
Vandy/Tenn
Auburn/Bama
A&M/tu - now
Plus the newly added Red River Shootout.
Those 9 have to happen. If FSU or Clemson get added then they'll be included too for the in-statelist.
But outside of those 9 games, the rest mentioned are nice to have, but not have to have.

Keep Bama and UGA
Bring back Tennessee and Florida.

Yes, if you read further down I accounted for Ole Miss/MSU, Vandy/TENN, Texas A&M and Texas and Texas/OU.
In fact, I described the Texas/OU and Texas A&M/Texas games in this new 16 team format, as new Non-Negotiable games.

Georgia (non-negotiable)
Tennessee
LSU
The only way we would possibly allow UT or LSU to be removed is if they were replaced by Auburn. And that is one of them not both. We may also consider replacing both if we could get Auburn and Bama added.

I think the LSU/Florida game needs to stay. It does have a rival feel to it and now that Alleva and Foley are gone, the rhetoric between the fans has gotten more respectful of the game.
1)It is one of the best SEC games going the last 20 years.
2) Jacob Hester (2004-2007) and TB Hebert (2007-2011) who played at LSU and work for ESPN 104.5, LSU's Baton Rouge flagship station have talked about the Florida game is the one game that is respectful but also very chippy between the two teams. I have noticed that myself.
So I think listening to those guys, it is clear in the LSU locker room going back to at least 2004, that the players of both programs see this game as a rival that is now embedded in the culture of both LSU and Florida

Ok got it, and I understand. But we agree I did give the OU/Texas and Texas A&M/Texas game the proper historical recognition as non-negotiable games in the new 16 team SEC.
Not an LSU fan that gets into Trolling contest as an FYI
