LSU lost the arms race some time ago to A&M (money-wise) and Bama (material-wise).
Now the consequences have come due ...

Kelly could end up counter-suing LSU for 50% more
Without an angry billionaire bailing them out, this could cause insolvency for LSU. Not good.

Yeah, LSU screwed themselves and is only looking bad right now
They will have to pay the money, and the next head coaches Agent is going to insist on language that would make the rest of the A.D.‘s across the nation cringe

Funny seeing some of the lsu posters acting like Tom Mars doesn't know what he is talking about.
The guy basically ended the NCAA as we know it. You can thank him for having the portal.
He ended Freeze at Ole Miss, and somehow got Nutt paid by Ole Miss for smearing his name.

Not a fan of him like most lawyers but the guy knows wtf he's talking about.

I was assured that Kelly was taking a 25 million lump sum payment, and that he would like it.

No they’re not, they’re going to pay him once, and it’s going to be a doozie!

Wouldn't this be the best outcome for yall?
If LSU football gets completely destroyed by Brian Kelly. Id imagine yall would be over the moon?

Seriously? Nope. I wouldn't wish this on any proud program. Not at all.

LSU against the world.
But in all seriousness. Bama and A&M would only benefit if LSUs program was bankrupted by BK.

If we didn't fire him, tell him to get back out there on the field.

LSU probably trying to negotiate 56 year payment terms!

Tell him this or pay him I guess.

I don't understand trying to stiff the coach they hired, with both parties agreeing to and signing the contract. If it is a bad contract for the school, they have no one to blame but themselves.
Of course with this much money involved it is no longer about right and wrong but what you can get away with, having the court's blessing.

True but it is a shame to not pay the man what you agreed to pay him.
