Interesting nugget from the Victim Impact Statement from Auburn coming out of the Chuck Person sentencing today...
"As a result of Person’s misconduct, Auburn expects to receive a formal Notice of Allegations from the NCAA in the coming months."

First to report is a tweet from "Tide Hoops News"
As a result of Person’s misconduct, Auburn expects to receive a formal Notice of
Allegations from the NCAA in the coming months. While Auburn believes the NCAA investigation
to date has only confirmed that any staff misconduct was isolated to Person – and that his
misconduct was committed in a way so as to avoid Auburn’s detection – the University will still
have to navigate the enforcement process to an ultimate conclusion, a process that may drag
into yet another basketball season. Despite the fact that the NCAA has already imposed what
Auburn believes are sufficient penalties for those student-athletes affected by Person’s
misbehavior, the possibility exists that Auburn’s athletics department and/or men’s basketball
team could face further sanction and penalties from the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions.

SECOND ETA: 4 In total, Person ultimately provided Wiley approximately $800 over roughly 10 months during
his freshman year. (COST US A YEAR OF ELIGIBILITY)

Sources are saying LSU already received their NOA. Schools are not required to publicly disclose NOAs until they have an official response.
At least AU is being transparent.

They hired Pearl. Didn't learn from UT's mistake.

I wouldn't be surprised.
The thing going for Auburn...this was not tied to recruiting in any way. Auburn immediately suspended the two players involved and the NCAA reinstated them, not Auburn.
Our Head of Compliance is second to none. He is former FBI and former NCAA investigator. Seeing as how Pearl was given a large raise and contract extension gives me no reason for concern.

Final Fours being erased are no big deal though, right?

The NCAA doesn't really care about this. That's why they moved from the LOIC charge to the FTM charge when handing down sanctions.

This will likely be the end of the matter unless they have uncovered something else.

Doesn't seem like much, but the NCAA used an even smaller finding against a Bama coach to consider invoking the death penalty in a football case three years later. An assistant asked a booster for a few hundred dollars to slip to a recruit in Houston. The booster told him no and reported it to Bama and Bama self reported to the NCAA. No money even changed hands, but it was within that five year window, so it brought the death penalty into play for football when Logan Young tried to buy Albert Means.
This NOA shouldn't hurt Auburn, but you guys need to keep a low profile for a while.

This would suck since this past year we switched our designation from that of a football school to a basketball school.

Bammers are so afraid of the Pearl vs Oats matchup. AU has known for months that they are not part of the investigation.
