At some point the other coaches in consideration have to start asking themselves "why doesn't anyone want the LSU job?".
To be honest, we hired Orgeron and nobody wanted that guy.
He lucked into a title due to Burrow.
When is the last time we hired a whale?
We landed Saban before he was Saban, and he bailed for the NFL and is now at our SEC West rival.

Let's see who they end up with. Also remember that whomever they hire may or may not be a splash but they could easily be a slam dunk.
Read some articles from the year Jimbo was hired. Ignore Jimbo. Here are the other hires that were considered an "A" by lots of folks:
Scott Frost to Nebraska
Chip Kelly to UCLA
Dan Mullen to Florida
Willie Taggert to Florida State
Joe Moorehead to State
Hires that were considered questionable or worse:
Mario Cristobal at Oregon
Herm Edwards at Arizona State
Sean Lewis at Kent State
Billy Napier at Louisiana
In 2019 2 of the lowest rated hires were Sam Pittman to Arkansas and Jeff Traylor to UTSA yet Mike Norvell to Florida State was considered a big win.
It's just so hard to know who will work out and who won't.
