You know its gonna happen. Some unfair advantage is going to be created at some point with key coaches or players testing positive and the league having to shut down everyone right after the first 2 or 3 games. Its gonna happen. Too many variables for it not to.

Knowing Auburn luck y’all will somehow be able to be the only team to continue the season.

Probably so. Better read the fine print when your ticket office asks you whether or not you want to keep your season tickets or get a refund this year.

Malzahn will survive another year but I agree
There will be disruptions
When all is said and done I’m not sure what the endgame will be
Games will definitely be cancelled with outbreaks on teams
Player safety will rule the day and I don’t know how you justify it with the way things are in a contact sport like football

A lot of players are testing positive every day. I’m not sure it even gets to the point where the season starts.

I dont see how it can. Outbreaks in Texas, CA, and FL are getting things shut down again.

Even if you are of the mind that all of this virus stuff is political remember that college presidents are the most liberal people in the country.

The season aint happening. You will be happier if you come to terms with that now.

The season will be pushed back to start on October 3.
Only conference games will be played this year. 50% capacity in each stadium for fans.

Even so, I don't think there's much hope of having a season that counts in the books at this point. It ain't happenin

Won't be surprised if the NCAA pulls the plug by mid/late July.

If the numbers keep rising then it is doubtful it begins on time. I don't see how they can social distance in a stadium.

There was a right way to do this, but we're past that point now. A rush to see things get going has obliterated anything remotely resembling the large crowds you see in sports stadiums being possible in the near future.

A fan limitation is likely. The chances of football not happening is about as close to zero as possible. It’s almost like some of you do not actually keep up with what is actually going on and repeat whatever some clueless idiot tells you. Do you guys really think the people in charge were not expecting football players to test positive for this virus? The players are fine. Most aren’t even showing symptoms and the ones who are have been mild. Zero hospitalizations. It’s unbelievable how uninformed some of you seem to be.

It's a good thing that the numbers are rising.

It's a terrible thing that society is so fricking clueless they don't understand why.

Ruled by ignorance and feels.

So all the other countries who are only having 100 or 200 cases a day did it wrong?

Our death rate continues to fall. The average age that is now getting covid has dropped significantly. That is a good stat, unless you are one of the ones craving fear porn.

That stat is not enough information to make any kind of real decision. And I'm not just talking about the obvious per capita issue.

It's kind of like how they are making a big deal about all the cases now, and pretending like we are going back to March numbers. It couldn't be further from the truth.

200 cases a day among people who are already really sick and have heavy symptoms means you are looking at a decent amount of deaths. Probably 10-20 of those people might die, that's a very high fatality rate.

And when this all started, those were the people being tested almost exclusively. So for example if you go back into the US numbers for march/april, you'll see 30k per day in new cases, and 2k deaths per day.

The Covid-19 Tracker

I like this link. You can click on the united states to see only it's data. And then from there you can narrow a few things down to get some useful information.

Get down to the US, then click on the testing link. You will see how much testing has increased over time.

Mar 20: 1782 positive, 9727 negative. 11509 tests, 15% of tests were positive. Tests were limited, you needed to have symptoms to get tested.

Fast forward to yesterday. 29,468 positive and 489,727 negative. 519,195 total tests done. That's 3 times less of the tests coming back positive because they are testing people even when they don't have symptoms. And even with all that testing, and going further into the population to find cases that never would been seen a few months ago, it is still only 5% positive. Most of it is young people, like 50% have no symptoms, etc.

So saying 200 cases and I'm thinking well how did they get to those 200 cases. Is it with limited testing where only people with bad/heavy symptoms get tested like the US in March, or is it like yesterday when they are just looking for people to test to increase the number?

The question that I can't think of any solution to is what if an entire team has to quarantine after the season has begun because they've had several players, coaches, support staff or athletic trainers test positive? If an entire team has to be quarantined for two weeks, they will miss two games. (maybe one if they happen to have a bye week) Not only will they miss games, the teams they were scheduled to play will miss that game. Suddenly that's three teams that have missed at least one game, and that's just if one team has to be quarantined. What if there are four or five teams in one conference that have to stop playing for two weeks?

I could easily see a scenario where a team has maybe 5-10 players, a coach and some other staffers or athletic trainers all test positive in the same week. That would be enough people that you could say the entire team has been exposed.

IMO, the NCAA, conferences and schools will have to have a solution to this question (along with many other questions) before a season can even start.
