Were any of y’all close to attending another SEC school?

I was close to ending up in Knoxville and being a Vol. That would have been interesting to say the least. I have no doubt I would have gotten attached to the vols like I did with LSU.
Any of y’all almost go to another SEC school and would have been a fan of that team for life?

Georgia Tech.
ETA- would not have been a fan for life. Was already a UGA fan, raised as such.

Is it common for people who to MSU to be Bama fans? It’s so close to UA and Alabama in general I figured there’s gotta be a lot of tide fans that go to school there

I was close to going to UGA. I got accepted and my family was pushing me there but it was in the danger zone.

Went to LSU but almost went to Bama (I lived in Mobile during high school). Boy.. my recent years of fandom would have been much different

I grew up a huge Auburn fan and got into both Auburn and UGA out of high school. I couldn't turn down UGA and I certainly couldn't turn down the HOPE scholarship versus Auburn's out of state tuition. Auburn is alright, but I have no doubt I made the right decision.

Yeah I can imagine kids these days on the fence about going to UA or LSU lean UA bc FB and overall college town. It’s a hard sell to get kids who have no family or lifelong fan ties to LSU to come to Baton Rouge.

Always been an Auburn fan, but strongly considered UGA and Vandy. Probably would have supported Vandy athletics. Not sure how supportive of UGA I would have been

This is probably very common. Plays into why Uga and AU are such big rivals on and off the field. Most kids at both schools grew up in similar situations.

Are there a lot of kids at Uga and AU who are fans of the opposite team? Like when they play every year they wear auburn gear as a Uga student? Haha that’s wild
