Well, tropical storm Gordon at least didn't turn into a hurricane.

I stayed up waiting to see what happened. Only one death, a child in Florida. So sad. Going to bed and tomorrow 8-15 of us will be headed south with our trucks bringing food and water to South Alabama and Mississippi along with batteries, lanterns, charcoal and yes, alcohol.

Mock the alcohol but those people will need a lift of spirit without power. We also bring battery fans and you'd be surprised how much a bunch of Tuna and Crackers and Chicken Salad and crackers can help out.

We did the same thing for Louisiana and I was angry how little the feds did for those people. Lets all be glad it wasn't a hurricane but lots of people have lost power just the same. Laters, gotta get some sleep, we going 9am.

Matthew 6 Contemporary English Version (CEV)
Giving

6 When you do good deeds, don’t try to show off. If you do, you won’t get a reward from your Father in heaven.

2 When you give to the poor, don’t blow a loud horn. That’s what show-offs do in the meeting places and on the street corners, because they are always looking for praise. I can assure you that they already have their reward.

3 When you give to the poor, don’t let anyone know about it.[a] 4 Then your gift will be given in secret. Your Father knows what is done in secret, and he will reward you.

Thank you... I’m sure there are good people over in Pascagoula/Moss Point that could use it...

From everything I've read, it really wasn't that bad of a storm.

Bored people, who are overly warm from lack of fan and a/c... booze is exactly what they need. Alcohol is a catalyst for awesome here.

I rode it out in Foley, AL and we took a direct hit from the eye wall and there wasn't much to it, the power didn't even flicker. I knew there wouldn't be much to it, the media blows it way out of proportion. Hurricane Ivan was a bad storm, I rode that one out here and went outside to look around in the eye of the storm when it was calm but couldn't see much because it was so dark outside at the time. The next morning you couldn't get anywhere on the roads without a chainsaw due to trees over the road every route you tried to take.

James Spann is the only weather person I know that wasn’t overly dramatic about Gordon.
