As much of a Texan I am, y'all never felt like a Texan. More of a Mid-Country or Southeast vibe. Glad y'all found a few things to be good at, but never became a national powerhouse. Definitely, you've overachieved. Good on You.

I don't really know you. It's like the best of the south, but all the good parts of Carolina. I can't say I know or acknowledge your achievements, but I'm not the least bit annoyed that I'm sitting next to you at the table.

I mean that's fair, but it far surpasses anything TTU has ever done.

They haven't won with fast runners, they've stockpiled the distance events, no one cares about

I would rather olympic competitors

And you realize those distance events nobody cares about also compete in the Olympics?

I'll leave the old SWC thoughts to the former members - but I can think of 55 reasons and maybe 15 more why Texas Tech will always have a place at a Gamecock shrimp boil solely as a result of the 2002 Tangerine Bowl.

quote:

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- A monthlong layoff and an ankle injury did
little to slow down Kliff Kingsbury.

Texas Tech's Nehemiah Glover breaks away for a 46-yard TD catch.
Kingsbury became the third Division I-A player to top 5,000
yards passing in a season, throwing for 375 and three touchdowns as
Texas Tech defeated Clemson 55-15 in the Mazda Tangerine Bowl on Monday
night.

''Five thousand yards, that's a big number,'' Kingsbury said.
''That shows how well our offense played this season.''

Texas Tech (9-5) won its first bowl game since beating Air Force
in the 1995 Copper Bowl and gave coach Mike Leach his first
postseason victory.

Five different receivers caught touchdown passes for the Red
Raiders, and Wes Welker had a 59-yard punt return for a score.

It was the worst defeat of the season for Clemson (7-6), and the
worst in a bowl since a 41-0 defeat to Syracuse in the 1996 Gator
Bowl.

-----------------------------------------

HRV you continue to exhibit why you are one of the best members on the SECr. 1992 expansion was far and away the better compared to the travesty of 2012.

Both schools have been solid additions to the conference.

If anyone hasn't been to CoSC for a game, you should make a trip. A rowdy, fun crowd even when the football team isn't doing that hot.

I remember being excited with the announcement that Arkansas and South Carolina were joining the SEC. Expansion was the biggest thing to happen to the conference in years.
Also, the East and West Divisions were created with the winners playing in the SEC Championship Game.

It was an exciting time for the conference! Glad y'all are here.

You might not realize this, but at one point not too terribly long ago former Arkansas sprinting had the fastest man and woman in the world with Tyson Gay and Veronica Campbell Brown at the same time.

Arkansas has many Olympians...from field events, sprints, and distance.

Educate yourself.

SC and Ark are more valuable members of the SEC than the Mississippi schools.

That's because the University of Arkansas is in the state of Arkansas, not Texas.
