You guys are squealing like little bitches over the possibility of them coming to the SEC and it's pretty pathetic. You should be the first to welcome them and then beat their arse.

Anyone who thinks the horns are trying (ha) to join the SEC in order to play the Ags is as misinformed as those who think the Aggies accepted the SEC invite to run from those ladies in ATX.

I wholly understand the fun in kicking around both narratives tho.

Good for you. Maybe you should start a thread about it.

I have had 0 fear of a Texas team beating an A&M team in the last 10 years. Not saying they wouldn’t have, it’s just not a concern. The ego of the school off the field is the issue. Not anything that happens on the field.

Biggest pussies on the rant.

For the record. The regular aggy fanbase is ready to play Texas.

But this huge collection of pussies on the sec rant is not.

No squealing here. This ain't Franchione's or Sherman's or Sumlin's Aggie Football Program. We would beat their arse today in OOC play. We would beat their arse today in the Big 12. We would beat their arse today in the SEC.

This is about money. The SEC has more of it than anyone else. Texas sees that and is trying to get their grubby bankhanded mitts on it. The admin at Texas cares about nobody but Texas, and they'll milk any conference and any colleague for every dollar they can, however they can, without a care in the world for the shambles they leave in their wake. We let them into our house at our own financial peril.

Aggie, This Tiger fan sides with y'all...
'Member when The Longhags seecretly hoed' themselves to the Big10, and Pac10 (10 at that time), well when that came out in the open they tried adding the Land stealing Oklahomans, and the Okie Lite Cowboys and Texas Tech(Because the Athiest West Coast League wanted no part of Baylor,BYU,So.Methodis,Texas Christian etc.)
The rest of the Big12 (You included Agg's) were ready to revolt and completely crumble as a League.
Sports Illustrated and ESpiN wrote articles How the ShortHairs "Saved the Big 12" from the Fallout....which They caused!

Well first of all they have their own house, so they won't be staying with me. Second, if we don't let them in they are probably going to another conference which will make said conference stronger. And lastly, who should Texas be looking out for? Ain't nobody going to take care of them, so why not look out for #1?

You realize that while A&M has been complaining about Texas you have Oklahoma who cherishes their relationship with Texas and has built a great athletic program while being in the same conference as the horns. How were they allowed to succeed if Texas is so bad?

It’s all good.
It’s currently Christmas in July for LSU fans—I get that.
They’re not interested in the actual story; they just enjoy our hatred for all things horn.

Bottom line: UTex & OU won’t have the votes.
So while the convo is entertaining, it’s DOA.

The Big 12 got Oklahoma to stay by guaranteeing them the same minimum annual payout as Texas. Both minimum payouts are paid by taking miney away from the other 8 schools in the Big 12.

And even now, with all that. OU has regular season games that are not televised. They're on PPV like it's still 1993. Or only availabe by online stream. Because Texas wants their own channel instead of building one the whole conference can benefit from.

Texas is not a partner. They're a solo act, regardless of what conference they're in. OU's lot is thrown in with Texas because the Big 12 is the best they can do unless and until the OK legislature uncouples them from Okie St. So IMO they're making the best lemonade that can with the lemons they've been given by their government.

I have no problem at all with OU joining the SEC BTW. I think they'd be a good culteral fit, a good partner, and be great competition for the SEC.

This lie is told over and over again, and I am not sure why..

A&M and for that matter all of the B12 was offered the chance of starting their own network and said no on several occasions. The conference as a whole first said no when they found out that it will be a major net loss for several years studio startup and getting it on cable and the individual infrastructure would be severely expensive.

This was all pre-B10N (which interesting enough the dude that was working on this went to the Big 10 and started the B10N) and so the risk adverse nature of the not so deep pocketed schools killed it. Seems short-sighted now, but at the time it was an understandable stance for the B12.

Texas then approached A&M to partner on a network and received essentially the same response, thinking it wouldn't really be feasible. Texas thought if it just broke even, it would be great for their non-revenue teams and if A&M and UT split time and it could actually work. If not, the infrastructure investment would be worth it.
Once again, it seemed unlikely at the time, but then the landscape shifted and Texas could leverage the idea to keep them in the B12 to ESPN.

So the idea that Texas killed the potential B12 Network is completely false, and seems to be driven by schools looking back not wanting to admit that they declined the revenue stream.

There is some great stuff on this in the Sports Business Journal over the years. Really interesting stuff, more tied into how the B10N came about and how it was all initially pitched to the Big 12.
