When it was under the table shite was kept within reason and limited to a handful of prized recruits. It was also against the rules so you couldn’t be blatant about it or else you ran the risk of becoming SMU. Major college football, with NIL combined with the playoff, is now not too dissimilar from any other sports league. I liked the sport for its traditions, pageantry, and overall uniqueness. All of that is quickly disappearing in favor of corporatism.
