At a later point that season, a top-5 clash of Missouri and Kansas would happen

There needs to be a book written about that season.

We will never see another season like this ever again

South Carolina went on to lose their next 5 games, starting with a home loss to 3-3 Vanderbilt. Finished the season 6-6. Total collapse.

Should at least be a 30 for 30.

A team loses to Kentucky in football and still wins a championship. Can't make that shite up.

Of course that's your takeaway from 2007.

Yes, Kentucky still lost to Tennessee that year.

And #5 Michigan lost to Appalachian State, who was Div. 1-AA at the time, on opening weekend

Lost to State too. That poor team had some elite starters but had absolutely no real depth. Keenan Burton was playing on sprains in both ankles by the time we got past LSU.

LSU opened against App State the next season. I remember national talk of a possible upset.
That would not have been the worst thing that happened to LSU in 2008.
2007 was fun, but stressful. 2008 was just mean-spirited.

Charles Scott was disappointing in week 6.
