Let’s talk about this. This will be the first and last time I’ll be missing a big time game (LSU vs UGA) for a good friend’s wedding.

Would y’all say it’s selfish to plan a wedding on a fall Saturday knowing it’s an SEC game? I could certainly justify skipping Rice, La Tech or Southeastern.

I’m not skipping but contemplated about it for a while then eventually sold the tickets. Not happy about it but, would y’all say it’s insane to skip a friend’s wedding for a big game? I go to every game and have season tickets btw.

Hell no....not everybody's lives revolve around SEC football. If yours does enough to miss a friend or family members wedding then by all means miss it....I'm sure you won't be given a 2nd thought at the event.

Insane...no...but I probably wouldn't do it....unless it was more of an acquaintance than a friend.

I was a groomsmen in a Catholic wedding, in New Orleans, during LSU/Ole Miss 2014.

...haven't seen him since.

My oldest son is getting married this football season....He wisely scheduled it for a Sunday (11/4)so as not to miss the UGA/KY game (11/3)...

I wouldn’t go so far to say that it’s selfish, but the folks getting married shouldn’t get their underoos in a wad when ppl at the wedding are on their phones or gathered around any available TV that is around.

You're the first person to ever have to deal with this, trust me. Thanks for calling attention to this little discussed topic.

I don’t go to the weddings. I have season tickets and the games are planned years out well in advance. Most of the people’s weddings I go to went to the same school and know the schedule.

No, but alot of people in the south care alot about it. If you have a Saturday wedding in the fall, you shouldn't be mad when people don't show up.

Absolutely agree....also my wife shouldn't get all pissed when I slip out the door to head to the bar across the street because the reception has shitty bourbon and beer....but that always happens

I’m in a wedding that’s going to be next November. If the schedule shakes out like it usually does it’ll be the Arkansas game. I’m salty but freiends are friends. And the girl is dead set on a fall wedding.

I will not get married in the fall. I’m a teacher so there’s already more than enough incentive for a summer wedding (time off for preparing, then the honeymoon, etc.) without football and any girl that wants a fall wedding is not one I want to marry.

A wedding that happens anytime between April and October in south Louisiana is fricking torture.
