A frat brother of mine was from St Simons and a few of us went there for a weekend jaunt with him and it was really nice. Such a beautiful area.

Who is saying anything about travel methods.....70 miles is UNFAIR compared to 350 miles. Why not play in Gainesville then?

Comparing apples to oranges. I'm talking SOLELY about distance from the schools.
What if on your birthdays, your boss gives you 2 hrs. for lunch, but your coworker get 2X their salary. You gonna be fine with that because you like the company you work for?

& people can't party in Athens/Gainesville or Atlanta/Jacksonville?

What about S. Ga. fans who have to travel to Athens for any other Bulldog game?
& I don't think UGA PURPOSELY scheduled fall break to line up with this game.

Why would distance from the university matter? Other than on a map?
Why would anyone look at a sports venue solely on distance to a university? What does distance matter when you reference "fair"?

It did. And in the past (90s), teachers would make class voluntary late in the week.
The game in Jacksonville has a big influence on UGA the institution. For what it is worth, that is a great thing. It shows how important the game is to the culture of the university.

You have continuously, on several occasions, made yourself look a fool in this thread. Have you even been to the game before?

Let's see...you drive 1 hr. & be at your home...or go to an airport, load & board the plane, unload the plane & move everybody/everything to the stadium...then the same after the game.

"Fair".....SAME advantages/disadvantages for ALL parties.

'90's. & this game started in 1904.

Would it even be possible to play the game in Gainesville next year?
I'm totally talking out of my arse but wouldn't they be obligated to play it in Jax but for a pandemic-type situation?
I think you are correct. BUT....it could be their thinking is that since Florida traveled to Athens, then Georgia should have to travel to Gainesville as a pay back type thing. That's just a guess, though.

The airport is in Athens and it's a charter.

Are the players loading plane with equipment? What in the world does this have to do with anything? BTW,the Gators
are also "loading" and "unloading" equipment but they're just doing it on a bus.

You think Georgia folks are gonna take a 2 days or a week off for a fall vacation in Gainesville?
Posted on 8/1/20 at 1:00 pm to RD Dawg
If they play in Gainesville they should have a 50/50 fan split for the game.

The first time I went, I took my car and spent a week on the beach. The commute was less than an hour to and from the game in Jax.
The second time I went, I drove and spent 2 nights in JAX. I wanted to spend more time at The Landing. The commute to and from the game was a half hour.
You aren't helping me to see the problem with JAX.

Are you talking about commute? Because our team gets to the game faster than the Gators by bus. Jets have a funny way of doing that.
Or are you talking about distance on a map. The game isnt played on a map. Maps have no practical favoritism in football. Fans would. Commute time could. But maps... nope. They don't factor in football.

Is there a point?
The Gators are 11 games under .500 since 1904.
Help me see your point.
My point about the 90s was that the game in Jax was important to the university, professors, and students.
That kind of thing should factor in to where the game stays.
