Here is the full quote:

No. I talked to (Florida AD) Scott (Stricklin) earlier. The one thing I wouldn’t want to do is play Florida here (in 2020) with a limited crowd and then go to Gainesville in 2021 with 93,000 fans there. I don’t think we want to be in that position.

I mean Athens with very limited capacity, then Gainesville with a loud and full crowd is not exactly a fair swap.

When they said 10 games, obviously 5H/5A.

Just who those teams are is the debate.

Why?

It's one of the great traditions in the SEC and CFB.

Would it even be possible to play the game in Gainesville next year?

I'm totally talking out of my arse but wouldn't they be obligated to play it in Jax but for a pandemic-type situation?

That means that Florida gets 5 home games, 4 away games, and 1 neutral game this season.

For who?

UGA - 350 miles
UF - 70 miles

5X the distance is fine for you?

You know that the team flies down there, right?
And the majority of our fans are commuting from South Georgia?

& I think it needs to rotate to be fair. If you're not going to do H/H @ the schools, then flip with Atlanta & Jax. (1 hour drive for whomever is the Home team & a flight for the visitors).

WLOCP is the name of the rivalry...NOT the location.

He must remember the last time UF went to Athens and then Gainesville. 52-17 and 50-17 if I remember correctly.

We don't use rail travel and the team charters out of Athens. So no,I don't have an issue with the distance.

Fair for whom?

Florida is 11 games under .500 in the series.

Its kind of one and the same.

The great Dan McGill came up with the name after witnessing all the partying that surrounded the game/location in the '70's

I'm not trying to pile on here, but Georgia does it right. Fall break for the students and everyone has a great time all week in St. Simons. UF has no fall break and they head to Jax for the game on Friday.

Also if you pull the game away from the border to heavily populated North Georgia in the rotation, what is to stop us from having it in Miami so all the South Florida gators can have it in their neck of the woods or at least Orlando or Tampa? Most people in Florida don't live in the northern part of the state, so we have a ways to travel to the game just like you do.

i've always wanted to see some sort of consideration for on campus games in the series, whether it's a 3 year rotation or on campus twice in a decade. that would make each location even more special. cfb is very much about being on campus.

Y'all should rent/own space on the Georgia coastline. Short commute and great parties.
