We will be lucky to finish 4th with the schedule we have. We could be the 4th best team and not finish there though.
Somebody we beat that has an easier schedule than us will probably finish a spot ahead of us.
I think most reasonable Hog fans, although not completely satisfied of course, would accept 4th in the West as an okay start to the CBB era, as long as we can see his system coming together as the season progresses. 4th won't cut it for long though.

I can't decide if this thread is full trolls or idiots. Let's put it to the test: I'll go one month ban bets for any of you brave prognosticators that says that AU will indeed NOT finish 7th in the West.

Where's all the ole miss love coming from?... I guess part of it is process of elimination, but this is still a program that's won 2 conference games (both at home) in 3 years.
I'd also be surprised if we finished last in the West, but somebody's gotta do it... the division is very deep.

What about his explanation of his thoughts was too complicated for you? It makes perfect sense and was actually brought up first by an LSU fan earlier in the thread.
We play the West and then Florida and South Carolina from the East. That's a potential of 5 top 10 teams in our 8 games. We play A&M, Florida, South.Carolina and Alabama in consecutive weeks.
Meanwhile, Ole Miss plays Vandy/Missouri and State plays Kentucky/South Carolina.
Its completely feasible that we're a better team than Ole Miss but still finish 5th with them in 4th because of the schedule.
