Am I missing something with Arkansas? TB is coming back but Council just declared. Why are the polls so high? Is this just as assumption of who they’ll grab cause Muss gets talent out of the portal but based off returning roster I don’t see it. They got 2 top 25 freshman but now me are top 15. Not a troll, just curious.

Same with Tennessee. What am I missing here?

With Mizzou, it could go both ways. We could land Love and Aimaq and even Sharp and have a Top 9 of Love, Mosely, Honor, Kobe, Tonje, Sharp, Aimaq, Carter and Shaw with 3 4 star recruits and Curt Lewis coming in. Add in East who should likely transfer for playing time. That’s loaded. But we could swing and miss on those guys and Kobe could declare and we be fricked. Way too early for this shite ooo

With todays landscape, these too early rankings are dumb as hell. There is so much talent in the portal.

You can never tell when it comes-to men's basketball. Especially with the transfer portal in play. No way rosters will be known until late July at best.

I think it’s a combo of Muss recruiting really well every offseason, and being the furthest SEC team in the tourney the last 3 years(tied with Bama and Tenn this year obviously, two elite 8’s before that).

We are after some good dudes in the portal so we’ll see what happens.

It's too early to tell right now, so yes these rankings are stupid. I suspect we'll have a decent team, but we don't even know who will be on it, yet.

I wouldn't want to rank us until we see who enters in from recruiting/the portal.

Rankings shouldn't even be considered until the rosters are somewhat final. The Offseason is very fluid in how things work.

We have some good returning talent and good players coming in, but I think Muss’ track record since he’s been here gives us a boost in the polls.

I would say yes. He’s basically turned the roster over three straight years in a row and made two Elite 8s and a Sweet 16. I’m sure the assumption is that he’ll just keep on trucking as normal.

If he manages to keep Davis, Walsh and TB, he’d really only need to bring in 3-4 solid transfers to still be a top 20 team. I think that’s a safe assumption with his reputation in the portal. Especially with the commitment today from Menifield and then who else we already have high interest from on our radar.

Not to mention the 4 star players who didn’t get much playing time. It’ll be another interesting year for sure.

Tennessee is too high, however Barnes style wins in the regular season. I think we will be a tourney team again but maybe like a 8 or 9 seed. Something like that

Tennessee was in the top 15 all season and in the top 5 of the metrics all season.

Will get Zeigler back and Vescovi is likely to return as well. We’ll see what Phillips does. Sounds like JJJ has been told to move on like Nkamhoua and Plavsic.

Top 10 recruiting class if you include Dilione plus probably 2-3 portal additions although Barnes has been atrocious in the portal.

Zeigler, Dilione, Vescovi, Mashack, Awaka, Aidoo, Carr, Jefferson plus Gainey and whatever else they add in the portal is a projected top 10 team at Torvik.

Pretty safe bet to have Tennessee around 15 based on the last 5-6 years.

For us, yeah. I think we’re getting cred based on past performance. I agree that these are way too early and pointless. Transfer portal makes it even more of a crapshoot. Can literally rebuild or break a roster in a year.

We got a taste of the one and done 5 stars this year and it wound up less than what we had in previous years. Experience at the college level is where it’s at and the portal is bringing it.

I look for the high school talent to be more evenly distributed amongst teams with the portal supplying the bulk of players to competitive teams.
