I don’t think they’re as good as Alabama or Ohio State, but they won’t every single game on their schedule.
They went 12-0, won their conference, and that’s all you could ask...
Alabama came in 3rd in their own conference and once again, got to sit at home while other teams had to play.

No. It's the system we have right now.
Auburn wasn't robbed in 2004. 3 just didn't fit into 2.
The only solution is to expand the playoff again or else make a new NCAA division for the have nots who aren't in the Power 5 conferences but are a step above FCS.
It's slightly more complicated for UCF this year as two of their games were cancelled due to Irma. Though I doubt the committee would've cared if they had curbstomped Maine and Georgia Tech. Probably would've lost to Georgia Tech rendering the argument moot for 2017.

Group of 5 needs their own playoff. None of those teams will ever make it to the CFP. And it'd be awesome to watch another set of playoffs for the mid major conferences

They had a bad game against a good Memphis team.
UCF is a fantastic football team. Their offense clobbered people, but their defense was good enough for me to start them on my cfb fantasy team for most of the year.
I think they are being severely underrated by the committee. They aren't a top 4 team, but they would beat several teams in the top 10, imo.

If they wanna be taken seriously, they need to schedule 3 or 4 P5 teams a year.
