He was a true artist at his profession, I’d hate to try being the one to fill his shoes.

When it comes to an announcer for my team, I love a homer. Hell, I *demand* a homer.
Rod Bramblett was orange-and-blue to his core. He would stick up for Auburn no matter what. PASSION and DEDICATION to Auburn Sports was his mantra and prioritized well above bloodless and unexciting logic and reason. And that was fine with me.
That's why we loved him.
I never would have thought someone would have the ability to step into the massive shoes of my beloved Jim Fyfe, but Rod did just exactly that. And the shoes fit perfectly.
RIP Rod and Mrs. Bramblett. You will be greatly missed.
God speed and WDE.

To all the other SEC fans on this site, thanks a lot guys. We AU folks are hurting pretty bad today. Not only for Rod and Paula's family but also for the young man who was also involved in the wreck. That kid will have to deal with that the rest of his life.
Much appreciate the love guys.

You're always a classy poster when it comes to these things that transcends sports
I think Rod would be pleased to know that his life and career were special enough to bring together different fanbases like this

Well said Tuscaloosa! As bad as I hated that play and the way the game turned out, Bramblet's call was one that will live forever. He was a fan first and foremost with a gift that allowed him to put into words what he was seeing like none other.
Prayers for all my Auburn friends and his family.
