Rodgers is Tee Martin’s son.
Lawrence’s parents were season ticket holders when he was growing up until they moved to GA.
Tee Higgins born and raised in Knoxville as well.
Travis Etienne is Janzen Jackson’s cousin and grew up a Tennessee fan as well.
Butch managed to go 0/4. Pretty impressive.

“I was a Tennessee fan. My mom’s family is from Tennessee. So growing up that’s the only thing I really knew was Tennessee football,” Lawrence said. “Watch them all the time.”

”Honestly, I didn’t grow up an LSU fan at all. I grew up a Tennessee Volunteer fan,” Etienne said on Saturday during his latest CFP media availability. “I don’t know how that came about,” he added. “I just knew I liked the Volunteers, everything. I was really into them as a kid growing up.”

This is why I laugh whenever dumbasses say he was a great recruiter. He lied his arse off for the 14 and 15 classes and got lucky that he got Jalen Hurd and Vic Wharton early for 14, and Jauan Jennings for 15 to peer recruit all the legacies in those classes. Ended up lying and misusing most of his players and by the time Lawrence, Rodgers, etc were being recruited, he had been found out as a fraud who was useless without Dobbs and Barnett.

WAIT, so if Tennessee was just getting the Clemson kids and legacy athletes they’d be amazing. This is the first time since being here I realized what UTs calling could have been.
1. No longer the fans are still walking with a little swagger.
2. Y’all really are Orange Nebraska.

Not trying to troll but at what point does Tennessee stop taking constant L’s? I feel like they’ve been in a black pit of despair for 15 years straight.

Tennessee under Fulmer used to make a living on recruiting SC back when USC and Clemson were both mid level programs at best.
Combine that with UGA locking down GA and Bama/AU taking away N AL and the recruiting options are thin for a school in a state that doesn’t produce enough elite talent to live on.
But man I would be salty if I knew that the Clemson offense the last few years all grew up fans of my school and none of them stayed home.
