The worst thing that can happen to the Vols is not that you lose today. Its not even if you lose out for the rest of the season.
No. The worst thing that can happen to the Vols is if you win and roll off some victories to finish the season with what looks like a vaguely decent record. You will all start saying "we've turned the corner! We're back everyone! Just wait till next season!"
Then the same thing will happen next season. You need to rip the band aid off. Finish the season saying "there is something fundamentally broken about our football program and we need to fix it."
You need to lose to Arkansas. Deep down you want to lose to Arkansas. Do what is best for your program and give a "woo pig sooie" for the game today.

Arky is decent and playing with a lot of emotions. Coming off a bye the Vols should roll. Vols are 2 recruiting cycles away from being good not great. It would be silly to give up on the future at this point.

Man I feel for the Vols. I grew up in the 70s-80s, I rarely remember a time my hogs weren't in the top 25. Then joined the SEC and success has been sporadic at best. When your going through coaches you think maybe we should give them time because obviously changing coaches over and over just breeds inconsistency. But then you get coaches like Morris or Dooley and they force your hand. I know many Tenn. Fans are wondering right now if this guy can get over the hump, is there somebody better out there? If there is no improvement next year do we fire him, could it be a wasted year? Could Bobby Petrino turn us around like he did Arkansas?
