The conferences will keep expanding until it's eventually just the PAC and the SEC and you'll have PAC North, South, East, West and SEC North, South, East, West

If we take VT can we get rid of Arkansas or Mizzou?

Not a bad Idea.
Add Virginia and Virginia Tech. Drop Arkansas and Mizzou, let A & M stay, but only because the other West schools need at least one easy division game on their schedule.

Clemson literally brings nothing to the table. They don't bring a new market and TV money to the table. The Gamecocks already have that market covered. Their historical record against the SEC and other top teams are abysmal and they have won only one ACC Championship since Florida State joined the ACC. They would be equivalent to Ole Miss in this conference. They don't improve the academic reputation of the SEC. Their academics are very weak for the ACC and it's not that good among SEC schools either. What are they good for?

frick this we dont need the acc version of a&m. the conferences need to go back to 12 teams not to shitty 16 team conferences

probably go after ncsu. here's a follow-up in the comment section:
Normally I would agree with you about VPI and the SEC. They said no to the SEC last year, but if FSU and Clemson leave you can be sure more will follow. VPI would be forced to make a move or choose to accept a decline in their football program in terms of competing on a national level.
Beamer is against a move and has threatened to quit if a move is made. But how can they not move if the core of the football teams in the ACC leave? They can't.
In terms of TV I understand that tier 3 rights depend on the number of cable subscribers is all important regardless of if they watch or not. ESPN gets to charge the cable system for carrying the conference network a fee for every subscriber. That's why VPI and any NC team are so coveted by the SEC.

When it's all said and done, I think VT and NC State will be the 15th and 16th members of the SEC, with Missouri moving to the West where they belong.

Hell no about GT. That high school offense bullshite ain't happening.

This is not a very credible source... not that this sort of thing isn't possible, I just don't think some anonymous WVU blogger is necessarily the person with the info.

Why do most dislike mizz and a@m so much.............is it just because they are new??? If this article has any validity, VT makes a lot of sense b/c of the TV market. Remember the bottom dollar is just that, the bottom dollar. That's why two new states were so attractive for the SEC in the 1st place.

They just upped the ACC buyout to around 25mil, its going to be hard for most of the teams to leave the ACC

12 team conference was just right. why try to fix something that's not broken? frick you Texas for creating all these mess.

The Seminoles will immediately regret that move. They will make that dumpster fire more respectable though.

I like the idea of FSU in the SEC if we expand again....

If FSU + another (say Clemson) actually go the Big 12, it will be such a sharply divided conference of have and have-nots.
On one hand, you'd have powerhouses Texas, Oklahoma and Florida State and on the other tiny programs like Kansas State, Iowa State and Baylor.
All conferences certainly experience this to varying degrees, but a newly-expanded Big 12 makes for a strange mish-mash of a conference.

FSU already burned that bridge when they went with the ACC over the SEC in the '90s.
