Doubt it will be Hugh. Venables would be the next Chad Morris.

This one doesn't make any sense.

Caslen's ties to USMA. Not really a viable candidate.

Monken, Sark, and Venables are all not candidates for various reasons.

That is still such a reach, given the odds posted.

Why is Sark not a viable candidate?

Freeze is South Carolina's top choice, but I think it'll be Napier. There's interest on both sides.

Billy Napier

Really good coach with Furman, South Carolina State, and Clemson ties, plus experience under Saban.

He'd be a great hire, IMO.

Napier is one of the few coaches out there that have coached under both Saban and Sweeny.

Dangerous combo.

The more I find out about Napier, the more I feel like he's the guy.

Ironically, Dabo firing Billy Napier was probably the best move Dabo has made in his head coaching career. Chad Morris would come in, and the rest is history.

Napier was probably promoted into the OC role too soon. He wasn't ready. And apparently, he and Dabo didn't see eye to eye on things.

Yeah, in the random discussions about who will eventually replace Saban, his name is usually brought up.

Don't know if he would be ready for something like that yet, but this would be a great opportunity (at least for fans) to watch and see.

Very true. And he hates Dabo for hanging him out to dry the way he did....

If we hire Monken I’m legitimately not ever watching Gamecock football again.
