They could very well become the first SEC team to ever finish a season with an 0-9 or 0-10 record.

Finishing 0-8 in conference play has been more common than one would think. Here are the number of 0-8 SEC seasons by school:

6- Vanderbilt (2014, 2009, 2002, 2001, 1997, 1996)
4- Kentucky (2013, 2012, 2000, 1994)
3- Arkansas (2019, 2018, 2013)
2- Ole Miss (2011, 2007)
2- S. Carolina (1999, 1998)
1- Miss St. (2002)
1- Tennessee (2017)
1- Auburn (2012)

Twenty times an SEC team has finished a season 0-8 in conference play, but never 0-9 or 0-10.

Good luck Vandy. Don't mess this up.

The SEC took away the ability of Tennessee to screw this up.

Weren't most of them pretty young at that point?

I seem to recall Nutt having a good bit of success with O's players then mostly flaming out once they were gone.

Could be wrong though, I didnt pay a ton of attention.

In terms of an 0-9 or 0-10 conference schedule, which this season is. But several SEC teams have gone 0-10-0, 0-10-1, 0-8-2,historically.

Yes. I'm talking about conference play only.

Keep in mind also that just two years ago Vanderbilt Men's Basketball became the first and only SEC team to go 0-18 in conference history.

But, it's like the school valedictorian doesn't do well in sports.

Who's really the winner?

The parallels with Chizik are getting scary. That 2012 AU team was the same as 2013, minus a decent QB.

Its funny to hear those three tools on Sec Network praise Derek Mason and how he is doing such a great job. I don't care if he's a nice guy and doing it the "right way," he is not a HC in the SEC.

Not so fast friend.

They would tie 1950 Auburn at 0-10 (including a shutout loss to Southeastern Louisiana)

Also tie 1955 BAMA at 0-10.
