He's good. Thought he would have held out for a better job.

Thoughts and prayers

ETA: I hope he’s woke and doesn’t care about winning

Why would you hire another DC? You can’t replicate what they did a Notre Dame.

You have to be desperate to take that job

Nothing good comes from it except living in Nashville

another defensive minded hire.

He had better hire one of the most innovative young OCs out there. Vandy will never have enough talent and depth to big boy their way to success on D.

I got a bunch of downvotes for saying that Lea would be a strong HC candidate for the Vandy HC job.

He has an interesting background
He is a DC but he played offense in college at Vandy

I wanted an offensive guy but I also liked Lea. He played at Vandy, he knows what he's getting himself into (it ain't pretty).

OC hire will be huge

He's going to get 5-7 years minimum and at least $2m+ per year. Not a bad gig IMO.

Just shows that the Admin at vandy have no desire to actually win in football. Status quo hire, how is he different from Mason?

Not sure about the decision there.

Bad timing for Notre Dame as well, going into the ACC CG and then the playoffs.

SEC HC pay, no fans yelling at you in the grocery store after a loss. 8 win season at Vandy gets you a promotion.

Probably the most important part to the hire. He knows exactly what he's getting into.

Surprised they didn't just say "screw it" and hire a woman. Maybe Sarah Fuller will be special teams coordinator.

Don't really get all the negativity.

He's a good young coach and he played there so he understands the culture. Doesn't seem like a bad hire to me.
