and be about as close to as good as Bama is now. And as good as UGA. And UA will hire one of these Saban boys (there's another one or 2 on staff now) and keep right on perking when the time comes.

So you are on record of predicting a top 3 class at least for the vols this year. Nice.

He better get players from all over, High School football in Tennessee isn’t going to stock the roster like you need to win at the level you’re talking.

Vol fans are getting worse by the day. It's like that sloth victim in Se7en. By the end of the 2010's, they'll just be a brain-dead bundle of reactions surrounded by Smoky Mountain air fresheners.

I eavesdropped on a Tenn guy down in Gwinnett County today at the local watering hole with one of the local HS coaches (either Archer or Grayson). They were evaluating players and talking shop. We were the only three people in the bar and I just wallflyed.

I don’t know his name, but he was white, he worked at UGA a long time ago, and now works for Pruitt, he’s between 45-50 years old if I had to guess.

Sorry, but you're living in the past. Check the population growth of the southern states, and Tennessee is near the top. Some of those people are great players, as in Nashville and Murfreesboro, the new hotbeds for football recruiting.

They talked nothing about Tennessee, they mostly talked about the hs coach’s players and formation stuff, overall strategy stuff, real football geek stuff, they had papers out.. and a little about uga in a nonchalant way, but was decked out in T gear. The uga talk was “when i was there we ran this and that “ kind of thing. This meeting seemed more like relationship building with the coach than actual recruiting of the kids.

Lots of coaches who were the school's 9th choice to be their head coach go on to be long term winners in that role. Below is that list:

Well doughboy Pruitt was easily the best recruiter on the assistant staff at Alabama. And one of those staffers just had an all time type class at another SEC school. Add that to the fact that Tennessee has more money to spend recruiting than does the school that just had the all time top class and that tells me all I need to know. He was also the best on field football coach of the defensive assistants.

BTW, he just took an OT that your school has been recruiting for years and he spent only a few months recruiting him. Came down to the two schools and you lost him. Get used to it.

Oh, he was Fulmer's first and only choice as long as he took the job. I think Leach would have done a good job, hell I know he would have. But long term JP will give the Vols a chance to win championships and a chance to beat Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Nobody wins them all. Further the only coach who was in the same zip code as JP at Alabama was not Kiby, it was Tosh Lupoi, who is now the DC.

USCe, UGA, and UF will be light years ahead of UT. I'm sure the OT will be replaced, how many OTs have single handedly won a game? Did he sign yet? All Fulmer is out to do is glorify his own ego, putting a lot of trust in a man you fricked hard to give a shite long term. The last 10 years have been lean, the next several will be too. I'd say get used to it, but you've already had plenty of time to do that.

Oh and you have not 1, but 2, ex bama coaches on staff who are better than Kirby? That's laughable, the delusion is running deep

I think Pruitt will do a great job at Tennessee. This year will be tough, we have more talent than people think, but Pruitt has had to change the culture. Tennessee did not have 4-8 talent last year, the previous staff had allowed a 4-8 culture to take hold. Pruitt inherited a team that was soft and mentally weak.

Just think about how absurd this statement is alone.

You are claiming that an unproven Pruitt will take the dumpster fire that is Tennessee, and all of a sudden turn them into an Alabama caliber program. Never mind that Alabama has spent 10 years building their "empire", and they built it on the back of one of the game's all-time great coaches.

Tennessee will be fighting for crumbs with Mizzou and Vandy. Sit down. I would have thought the last 10 or so years would have taught y'all a lesson.

Your problem is geography. Too wide of a state. And the kids in Tennessee aren't especially loyal once you get out of that 90 minute Knox radius.
