Jonah Williams tends to stay away from social media, but Alabama’s star left tackle knows the kind of stuff that circulates online among opposing fans every time their favorite team gets beat by the Crimson Tide.
“People who don’t know O-line play love to watch it and take a freeze frame and say ‘they’re holding’ because they want excuses for why we beat them,” Williams said. “It always starts with attacks at play, attacks at players, then attacks at institutions, and people won’t just accept teams might be good at football.”
The phenomenon Williams is referencing exists largely on Twitter and popular message boards like the SEC Rant, where fans have done deep dives on statistics and compiled screenshots that supposedly provide proof of how Alabama’s misdeeds get systematically overlooked by SEC officials.

I’ve seen this board quoted a few times in national news articles now, always amuses me.

My favorite part of the game last night was how the refs didn't call one single penalty against Alabama until Alabama was already up by 4 scores and essentially had put the game out of reach.
It's frickin obvious to any impartial observer that Alabama receives a helping hand from the officials in literally every game they play.

I'm not mad about it, baw. I thought it was a very entertaining game.

The refs really helped Sirtan every time he was pushed off of by their AA wideout

You are delusional. Bama was hosed more last night than Oklahoma. Difference between Alabama and the rest of the CFB world is they overcome it.

That Wills illegal formation penalty on the TD was the biggest crock of shite.

I am not delusional. I watched the frickin game and the refs didn't throw one flag against Alabama until the score was 28-0. Then they threw several in a row. But it was too little, too late.
The refs cheat for Alabama. It has been firmly established at this point. This is 1989 SMU all over again.
Eventually Alabama's shenanigans are going to affect the entire conference and when that happens people are gonna say, "you know what? I knew that shite was going on for years before they got busted. Wish we would have done something about it before the entire SEC was disgraced because Nick Sabans is a goddamn cheater."
How many murderers are in y'all's football staff now? 2? 3?

Yeah, ACC refs definitely going to be biased toward BAMA... you frickers are just plain stupid...

Your trolls are tired and not even remotely entertaining. You need new material.

This isn't my thread, dumbass. Am I not allowed to comment on these threads? Bama fans gonna sweat out anyone who doesn't toe the Alabama party line?

I still have no idea how the (3rd?) TD was called a touchdown. If the player goes to the ground during the process of the catch, control of the ball must be maintained thru the process of the catch, including impact with the ground...dude's feet were both airborne when that ball started moving around and he only had it with one hand...then brings his other hand up to secure it...clearly it was moving around and rolled a 1/4 turn in his grip. Horrible job by the replay official. I don't know what a catch is anymore.
This guy is right...it always seems to go this way...the officials seem to help Bama to an insurmountable lead, then, when it doesn't matter anymore, they start tilting the calls against Bama.
I dunno though...I'm the furthest thing from a conspiracy theorist though...I don't think it's possible to systematically pay officials, or encourage them on behalf of the league to prop up the league's best chance at a national championship...but in the same way Shaq would run over defenders like a bulldozer and the refs would never call anything...it's like there is this inherent bias toward the benefit of the historically better team. "They aren't holding. They are just REALLY good". That said, Jonah Williams literally is that good. That has got to be the most dominant O-Lineman I've ever taken the time to watch.

I hope someone goes back and breaks that game down play by play to record all the bullshite that was gifted to Bama last night. They got very favorable spots all night long and I saw at least two plays that should have been overturned as incomplete passes that weren't even looked at by the officials.
The bias is obvious as can be to anyone who isn't wearing an Alabama t-shirt from Walmart.
