why does it always have to be jealousy? You could have a 5 win baseball season and I would still be wanting you to lose every game. Sometimes its just hate for hates sake

Much tougher is debatable. We played Tennessee and that's about the only difference.

I'm sure you guys will be back on track in a few seasons...assuming the hire isn't botched.

That's assuming a lot Eric

His statement was that we haven't/ won't be competing with y'all until 2015. We took 2/3, 2/4 from you this year so clearly we are competing with you

A 3 game series is fairly meaningless when comparing a team's overall season. I am sure you know that though.
Moral victory, duh. They built their football team around that so why not do it with the baseball team.

So, you deny that it is advantageous to you to be in the best conference in America?
I'd rather lose in the big leagues than win in the minors. While simply "being in the SEC" might not make a damn bit of difference relative to other teams in the conference -- it certainly raises both the basements and ceilings of MSU and Ole Miss relative to other teams nationally. If the conference itself isn't dominant, that doesn't happen.
And yes, I would pull my arse off for you in Omaha. Have many ties still to your baseball program -- and I would like to see them do well.

I think he meant post season and big picture wise.

You're right the egg bowl was strictly a moral victory and nothing else.

I don't think you can get McDonnell from Louisville. But you can get a big name.

I guess there probably are some jealous OM fans out there... But I agree with DMagic... The whole SEC dickriding scene is a little played out... Screw the conference's success... Our atheltic departments are making $ at a record pace and it doesnt look like ESPN, Nike, Adidas, Under Armor or any of our other sponsors have any plans to turn the faucet off any time soon.

If you take out postseason success...they are definitely competing with us.

So you have a reason other than hate/jealousy of State to wish they lose. That's understandable, but all this State hate due strictly to jealousy is just comical.
Hate/jealousy? How about it's a fricking rivalry, numbnuts.

I figured but he didn't word it correctly so I figured I'd point it out
Posted on 6/17/13 at 2:06 pm to engie
That's your prerogative then.
I can't definitively answer this question because we've never been in another conference but in our case we've been the loser most of my life.

Y'all have been far more successful. I think that's what you were trying to say
