Unless everyone wants the truth to be heard. That is what everyone wants...right?

They'll do that if the lawsuit goes to trial, no reason to do it twice.

Besides, its not as if the actual truth matters to the vast majority of folks.

Why would you testify in a Senate hearing for no reason?

I thought the LSU administrators clearly stated that the welfare and safety of LSU students was the most important thing?

Testifying at a hearing does nothing for the welfare and safety of LSU students.

LSU seems like it'll be using the Cable Guy defense.

LSU will escape unscathed. Too high prestige of a university. There will be a few employees, however, that will pay with their careers.

School officials can't testify in the senate committee investigating wrong doing at the school because it might be detrimental to the case where the school is being sued for wrong doing .

WTF are y'all doing down there. I mean i know we give each other shite on this board but shite's getting real down there. You guys ok?

why would school officials be discouraged from testifying in a senate hearing while there is about to be pending litigation about these very events? Is this a serious question? Any lawyer that allowed their client(s) to voluntarily testify in such a hearing would and/or should be sued for malpractice.

God damn that university is a joke

This is like the early Miami program when they were really bad and it almost permanently kept them from recovering from a near death penalty.

Is Sharon Lewis still employed at LSU? If so, that has to be interesting these days

It's almost like when somebody reports you to HR at a large company. There are rules against retaliation, no matter what your personal inclination is ...

I doubt it, people don't understand this is a multilateral investigation it's not a isolated incident or two. It will come down to if LSU’S legal team can catch and stop the bleeding. The administration has already burnt years of being prepared and allegedly swept stuff under rug.

Lesticles weighs in:

quote:

Peter Ginsberg, Miles’ attorney, provided the following statement to WAFB on behalf of his client:

“This lawsuit is a work of fiction eight years in the making. The manner in which Ms. Lewis and her counsel have slowly rolled out this lawsuit is telling, culminating in her counsel holding a press conference rather than having the pleading speak for itself and pronouncing that the lawsuit is for “other women,” implicitly acknowledging that the named plaintiff is a deeply flawed party without a valid claim. Les Miles has no liability in this matter, the accusations against him are false and meritless, and he will be responding by bringing his own claims addressing Ms. Lewis’ malicious and false accusations.”
