Below is a consensus of 16 Post-Spring Top 25 polls released thus far, including most of the major preseason magazines such as Athlon, Lindy's, Street & Smith, etc....

The Top 4:

1. Clemson- 399
2. Ohio State- 381
3. Alabama- 366
4. Georgia- 333

I'm not sure I've seen such a clear cut Top 4 at such a consensus. Clemson was #1 in 15 of 16 publications. Ohio State was #1 or #2 in 12/16. Alabama was #2 or #3 in 10/16. And Georgia was #3 or #4 in 7/16. When the initial AP Poll is released in August, its almost certain to have these four teams in this order 1-4.

Numbers 5-9

5. LSU- 311
5. Oklahoma- 311
7. Penn State- 306
8. Oregon- 299
9. Florida- 284

Rankings 5-9 could go in just about any order. LSU, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Oregon especially are all very close together.

#10 Notre Dame- 256
#11 Auburn- 230

Notre Dame at #10 and Auburn at #11 is pretty much concrete. There are huge gaps between them and the teams above and below.

Numbers 12-13

#12 Wisconsin- 203
#13 Texas A&M- 193

These two are nearly certain to be #12 / #13 when the first AP poll is released, but their order could go either way.

Numbers 14-19

#14 Oklahoma State- 166
#14 Texas- 166
#16 Michigan- 152
#17 USC- 142
#18 Minnesota- #131
#19 North Carolina- #105

These 19 teams are nearly certain to be the Top 19 teams in the initial AP Poll. Of the 304 slots available in the Top 19 for these sixteen polls, 282 (93%) are occupied by these 19 teams. There is just a huge drop-off in points after these 19 teams.

*13 of these Top 19 teams are included in the Top 19 of all sixteen polls.
*Oklahoma State is included in the Top 19 in 15/16 polls
*Texas is included in the Top 19 in 14/16 polls
*Michigan and USC are included in the Top 19 in 13 of 16 polls
*Minnesota is included in the Top 19 in 11/16 polls
*North Carolina is included in the Top 19 in 9/16 polls

No other team made the Top 19 in more than 4 of the polls.

Numbers 20 and Beyond

20. Cincinnati- 59
21. Iowa- 58
22. UCF- 50
23. Iowa State- 48
24. Utah- 42
25. Arizona State- 33
26. Tennessee- 28
27. Boise State- 35
28. Louisville- 24
29. Memphis- 22
30. Virginia Tech- 19
31. Washington- 16

The final 6 spots in the initial AP Poll could go to just about anyone. There is very little consensus on who those next best teams will be.

Crazy that LSU is still ranked #5 after losing all that talent to the draft/graduation. I don't believe they will stay there as the season goes on but this is just another nod to how good they were in 2019.

Jamar Chase and Derek Stingley are the best players at their positions nationally plus Stevens is back at Safety. The cubboard is not bare in Baton Rouge

Cupboard is definitely not bare down in Tiger country. It's hard for me to see LSU overcoming substantial losses on both sides of the ball and the loss of an important assistant coach to make another playoff push this year. If Ed O continues to recruit, 2021 LSU could make another national title push IMO.

I mean, Oklahoma has some returning talent but nothing that says top five. I’d expect more of a 12-17 position with plenty to build on. Tied with LSU? Yeah no. And that’s not a knock on LSU.

I would have thought Florida would be a spot or two higher.

A lot of people are seeing the light and realize that UF simply cannot recruit at the level of Kirby, and because of that it doesn’t matter if Mullen improves his recruiting. He will always be below Kirby.

UF is in a weird spot. Top 10 team but will not go any higher.

While I do think those will be the top 4, there is a larger gap between 3 and 4 than 4 and 7.

Not really. But a ton of sites release "Way Too Early" rankings in January and then update them in the Spring with their "Post Spring" ratings. With no Spring Ball I'm not sure there was much to move the needle with most teams, but there was some movement sure enough.

That's true. But that's mainly a result of #5, #6, and #7 being so close together. There is a solid gap between #3 Bama and #4 Georgia.... and also a solid gap between #4 Georgia and #5 Oklahoma/LSU

Keep believing that. You have a mediocre HC and no QB

High or low?

UGA has the best D on paper in the country.
They have questions on offense and a tough schedule.

4 seems reasonable just as 3 seems reasonable for Bama.

Switch them if you want honestly.
