Look, new non-Southern SEC blood doesn't know the geography of the South. Shocking.

Didn't the real University of West Georgia win a title recently? Maybe they just played for the title.

So who are you trolling with this one? None of the major North Carolina programs -- UNC, NCST, WF, Duke, and sometimes ECU when they're feeling uppity -- have any expectations of winning a football title.
Edit: reading the comments, I am guessing that you originally said South Carolina before people objected to Appy State?
Edit 2: Reading again, and noting the singular 'state' in your title, I'm guessing it was even worse -- you had it as a Georgia institution.

Arkansas is in the South and we are not "new". Arkansas has been in this conference for 27 years.
North Carolina, on the other hand, is becoming less southern by the day.

We're all becoming less Southern by the day. The world trudges on and things get lost.
But, while NC is indeed becoming more of a habitat for Yankee transplants, that's largely restricted to the RTP, where I live. Just an inevitability in this tech-boom era. Can't always source the top talent from the locals.

I think they won a DIII one in the 80s or something

Pretty sure UNC has a national title or two since 1985. LOL
