Helmet paint mixed wrong in the 80s and they stuck with it awhile. Recently, I think it’s just because pastels are fratty colors and they have to feed the stereotype

Try again. The mistake was made back in the 50's when Vaught was Coach. Brewer played for Vaught and decided to use the powder blues when he took over as Coach in the 80's.

I don't recollect any powder blue on the Stars and Bars.

What OM wears isn’t powder blue. They call it that, but it’s not

Eh I wasn’t that far off. This new obsession Ole Miss has with making everything powder blue in every sport isn’t explained away through a paint error in the 60s

Interesting the difference between the gold of Vandy, Mizzou and LSU. Gold, old gold, and piss yellow.
Also that Tennessee creamsicle.

No. You weren't far off. Only 30 years or so.
Personally, I prefer our official colors, but I graduated quite a while ago. Current students seem to like it.

You’re gonna have to tell me how one of these is gold and the other “piss yellow” TIA

He asked “where” powder blue came from, not “when.” Pretty sure the where was spot on but what do I know right?

You are correct.
So what is it considered?

Crap! It really was a mistake? Well, it looks great. Some mistakes are worth making, I guess!

They call it "Italian Blue". Not powder blue, not baby blue, etc...
It still sounds pretty fruity if you correct someone and say "well ackchually it's eyetalian blue" so mostly people let others carry on because at the end of the day what's the big difference?

I agree. Uniforms this weekend are much more classic and I wish we did the regular uniforms more instead of the lighter blue.

Agreed. This will be our second time wearing gray pants in the 12 games Kiffin has coached.

Speaking of Ole Miss obsession, funny the two stock photos you showed show us wearing the powder blues in the background
