How many teams have had back to back undefeated regular seasons? Has any team ever had three undefeated regular seasons in a row? Has that ever happened in the history of college football?

I'm not saying or predicting anything, I'm just asking questions.

For the purposes of gambling and the law of averages, I'd take UGA to drop a game somewhere in the regular season.

Nebraska and Oklahoma are the only 2 that come to mind that won NCs

Oklahoma some time back, maybe Miami? I think Alabama had a long unbeaten streak in the 90's that was broken by LSU in an unbelievable upset? But, I think the Bama streak was less than 3 seasons long?

We did way back when. I think it was 1938-1939 but lost to USC in the 40 Rose Bowl.

The Oklahoma Sooners (1954-55-56) and Nebraska Cornhuskers (1993-94-95) both had 3 consecutive unbeaten regular seasons .

I think this may be a record, but not sure. Doing this off the top of my head, would have to research and too tired now to do it.

Updated op to *bold* the real question, who has done it 3 years in a row?

31 in a row from 68-71, but only 2 full seasons, so Texas is a no for 3 in a row

Miami did it in 86 & 87, but lost 1 in 88
close in 2000 to 2002, but didn’t get there

USC from 2003-2005 lost one game in 3OT

Here is the record:
Washington Huskies
1908 to 1916 were 58-0-3

Yale 1905 to 1907 and more before that
Nebraska 1993 to 1995
Nebraska 1913 to 1915

Thinking Tennessee may be the only chance of UGA not pulling this off.

God knows we aren’t

In 202 LSU played 3 ranked teams. Alabama, Florida and Texas A&M and still managed to lose 5 games with 3 of those to unranked teams.

I could see Georgia playing 4 ranked teams by the end of the season in Ole Miss, Tennessee, Kentucky and South Carolina. I mean, it is all a guess but who knows? If the SEC had not cancelled our game with Oklahoma that might have been another one.

I mean, as long as you are taking unneeded shots, let's call things the way they truly are.

In fairness, three of LSU's ranked opponents (Florida, Alabama and Texas A&M) finished much higher ranked than the ones Georgia faces except for Tennessee.

To be fair LSU has a light schedule this year as well.
